a new hope

I can see on the horizon, the first rays of sunshine that shall ring in the era of going back to separation of church and state, civil rights being given back to Americans, and a gradual healing for the gaping canyon between the USA and the world. These are my hopes, what are yours

The deficit definitely needs to be worked on. Hopefully it's through cuts in expnse (war) and not through raising taxes. The rest of the economy should be able to recover just fine without government intervention. Some minor regulation, or a re-focus on preventing corruption, would be good, but I asmit I'm a bit afraid that the new people in charge may go too far based on uninformed people's fears.
Oh, and as for civil rights, I can't believe every anti-gay measure seems to have been voted in. WTF :(
