Max and I were lucky enough to get tickets to the inauguration. Here is an account of our day in Washington. (Note: This is also posted on Facebook for my Facebook-only friends)
Wow - sounds like an alternatingly frustrating and uplifting experience! Some of my foreign co-workers were watching the inauguration with me in a conference room at AmEx, and asked if it was always this big a deal. It was funny to realize that I had never had the least interest in watching an inauguration before, and now my company was actually allowing me to spend an hour and a half of my workday doing just that!
I originally had no interest in watching it (I am bipartisanly not interested in inaugurations). Then, because it was a snow day and he was glad that some people actually came into work, our General Manager ordered in box lunches for everyone and we all went into the conference room and watched it on the projection screen. I looked for Max and Sandy, but did not see them. I was bummed. I always look for Max on CSpan.
