You know how much I adore this verse and I'm always so thrilled every time you continue it. This installment just plain hurt my heart. Donna's not evil, but she's sabotaging Jensen and everything in his life, almost at every turn. And in her warped way she believes she's protecting him.
That's why I can't hate her even though I hate what she's done to him and is doing to him now.
I feel very strongly about all these people. Thank you for creating them for us.
Thanks for being such a consistent reader of this verse. Yes, Donna is not evil (at least in her own mind). She does believe she's helping Jensen. The question remains can Jensen see beyond her teachings. My beta has another short installment that follows this one, so there will be more shortly.
Thank you. I agree, Donna is definitely damaged. If I can write more of her I will. For now, note that there is another small installment coming up that returns to Jensen's POV.
Thrilled at the update! Donna horrifies me. The way she thinks, how little she thinks of her son--she tries to tell herself that she's just looking out for him and yet, she despises him so much. I read this and was just so thankful that Jensen wasn't a mind reader. Or maybe he need to be!
Thanks for this--it was such a pleasure to see more of this 'verse.
Thank you. Donna is a lot of fun to write. She does believe she is doing the right thing. And for the most part, she's very honest with Jensen. Mostly she's about as narcissistic as they come. It's her overriding trait. There's be another short installment (back to the usual Jensen POV) coming shortly.
You already know this killed me. And the next one nails the coffin...
You have gotten me so invested in these characters, desperately wanting a magical solution to the age-old problem of people being in love but needing contradictory things for their own selves!
I am always horrified by what an unrepentant narcissist Donna is while at the same time delighted with how you write her. And, of course, I am always happy to see another installment in my fave J2 verse :)
