Less of the museums, more of the not-museums... I'll change the journal title later.

Well this year on LJ may be quite interesting - though hopefully less eventful than last. I'm still not 100% sure of what I want to use it for. It hasn't worked to put up stuff about my museum work, my mates on here are reading it, but nobody else is, and I think I've only ever had one other comment that was either anonymous or from a user who ( Read more... )

I'd still love to read about museums (in addition to personal posts), because they are pertinent to my interests. :)

Oh thanks mate! And I will, I promise! Sorry about this being screened, I had something odd set up on my LJ! I had an idea I had responded to this but it obviously didn't post! Yes, definitely and I do promise to make sure that I keep posting stuff, but just probably for the more in-depth stuff I'll put over on a pro site, cos otherwise I might as well angle it for my actual mates here and talk about highlights, pictures etc, rather than cultural issues around it.

I still totally forget to look on Facebook, so for me you being here is handier. And I love to hear about all the aspects of your life and work. Although I admit I don't always feel capable of giving an informed, intelligent answer (but you've noticed that no doubt).
I'd love to see the evidence of your Ikea assembly skills; and your office organising, as I have a weird fondness for office equipment....

Oh and you and a few of my mates (including Annissa who just commented before) are wonderful when it comes to providing input, but maybe I should just be writing it to youse guys since you're the only ones reading it, you know, tailored to an audience. You've provided more input them almost anyone in this research (museums included), so don't diminish your contribution ( ... )

I find your journal interesting, I dont get anything but my friends on my LJ anyway cos I am friends only and am selective. So my posts are only for them anyway. But your journal is great, I really enjoy it and I would be sad to see you leave here as this is the only social networking I do.

Go hunt out some new flisters :D Or don't, I dunno, I just don't want you to leave so am clutching at straws LOL

Oh no it's not that, what I was saying is that I'm not doing my professional museums stuff on here. Not stopping using it for the main stuff that LJ is used for, the sort of everyday stuff. The reality is that there aren't the museum professionals magically on here, that might be interested in this and they aren't visiting here when I post up on FB, in fact sometimes they come here read it and then post up on FB or they just make comments from the preview area on FB more. I have literally had one museum professional write something here and they now just do it on FB.

Oh no, just clarifying that I will DEFINITELY still be here, I promise! I was thinking of not a while ago, but there are about four or five people who I am not on FB with and so I don't want to miss out on chatting with you guys.

Well you already know I love to hear about your Museums and adventures when dealing with others in your field. I love your pictures and the "boring" stuff looking forward to reading more.

Thanks mate, it's more about knowing who my audience is, I thought I might get some museum profs here, but that hasn't happened, they often comment on the FB stuff when I post up the link, but not actually here, so it seems like they aren't going to... it seems like I should just go back to merging the personal with the professional and keep it locked down!

Your new admin role? See, I am already slobbering in anticipation. Brilliant!
I better change the name of this journal again, and lock the bugger down completely.
