Very lovely weather today. Perfect to go hunting for nargles, except they don't live around here. I saw a few more wrackspurts the other day. It's much harder without the spectrespecs, but I'm sure I'll have some again soon. My pair was at home, but it'd be very hard to find them there now. Does anyone here have a pair, if you don't mind lending ( Read more... )

I'm not so sure on the goggles dear, but I am that Albus can take care of himself.

As to the third point: I've done a bit of forecasting in my time, but I don't know if that's exactly what you meant child.

So am I.

No, not like forecasting. Just being ahead and looking back.

Then I would have to say no, dear.
Why do you ask?

Because I think I am.

Nargles? Is that another form of - FAIRY! On your world?

Spectrespecs? Interesting, some pair of googles that allows you to see these creatures? Make them yourself?

Albus, is fine. In fact, he's over here at the moment.

No, not like a fairy. They're more like insects.

Yes, that's what they do. My father made them.

I'm sure he is.

Explain.

AH HA! I KNEW IT! Sounds like what I do. Oh? Your father made them? What does he do?

They live in mistletoe and hypnotize people. Very scary, really.

He publishes the Quibbler. Usually. He's a little busy at the moment, I think.

I've never heard of spectrespecs, but they sound very exciting!

They help you see wrackspurts, which are invisible and make your brain go fuzzy. They seem to flock around schools, for some reason.

I see! I've never really been to a proper school, so that must be why I haven't heard of wrackspurts!

They don't usually teach about them in mine. But they're why you forget answers before you take tests.

... What exactly are nargles and wrackspurts?

And who is your Professor, if I may ask?

Nargles are insects that commonly live in mistletoe. Wrackspurts are invisible floaty things that make your brain go fuzzy.

Albus Dumbledore. He's my headmaster, too.

I see... I wonder if wrackspurts exist in my world as well.

Ah, I do believe I have met him. He seems like a fine fellow.

They might. They're impossible to see without the spectrespecs, but you can tell they're around if your brain goes fuzzy.

He is.

I'm afraid I have no spectrespecs to lend you, but I'm sure you'll manage without. And I am quite fine -- this is not the first time the Ministry has had me removed from the school, and I doubt it'll be the last time I'm kicked out.

If you are looking to the future, Prof. Trelawney or Firenze are your best bets, though even they are not wholly reliable.

That's probably true, sir. After all, the Ministry's working with its army of heliopaths. I'm sure you'll be back in no time.

There's a lack of tea leaves to read here, but I'll ask her when I get a chance.

I certainly hope so. I do not wish to leave Umbridge in charge for too long. Might I ask what heliopaths are?

I'm sure she has some of her own, or many other means. She is usually quite eager to fortell the future, especially if it means something gloomy will happen.

She wasn't a very nice professor, no. They use fire to attack. They can control it without wands.

There's quite a lot of gloom going around these days, so I'm sure she'd be very happy. But today has been rather sunny.
