One of the perks of when I was working at the studio was that we were allowed, no, ENCOURAGED, to wear headphones/listen to music; I just remember TOWERS of cd's and, later, my first mp3 players (a Rio Riot). Obviously not as rich as a vinyl pressing, but music, nonetheless. Like yourself, I find it easier to focus on my work when listening to some wonderful music, not only my own, but I also had access to several coworkers' collections - good times!
