What I especially love about this is the way you meld the pitch-perfect wackiness of the '50s rom com with the sci-fi setting, and the whole thing gets progressively crazier as Jim falls more in love.

It's also great fun to see Jim trying so hard, with his old-fashioned bag of tricks--the mix tape and alcohol and the fake Russian accent. I like how love makes him second-guess himself, and get nervous, and develop a conscience, and otherwise get off his game. It's a tried-and-true romantic premise that the "right one" will make a cad reform, but I think there's something to that--when you fall in love with someone you think they're amazing and that you aren't, and that you have to live up to them somehow.

I know you're mostly a Jim girl but gawd you make McCoy enticing, between his gruffness and his gentlemanly behavior. I'd wear stilettos for him, too, and I'm strictly a flats girl!

Yes, I am a Jim girl, but Bones is a whisper behind in my affections and so I'm thrilled he comes across as a hottie :D
