For those that were not aware, this past Wednesday was Rhett's birthday. He's an old old man now. Thursday evening we went to my mother's house for dinner to celebrate his rapid and incessant aging. When my mother handed him his gift, it was wrapped in a Christmas giftbag, and atop the present was this note

Considering my mother voted for that man not once, but twice... Yes, your mother does indeed kick my mother's ass. She banned political discussion in her house when my 12 year old sister called her on Bush's stupidity.

So did I. She was quite liberal for a while, then Tom came back and she forgot she had a mind. Political discussion was banned because both now know what a mistake the chimp was, and they care not to be reminded of it by their grade school aged children (who get fed liberal propaganda by Suelynn and I). Can't have those girls come out of that house as neo cons.

Did I ever show you the poem she wrote after my 20th birthday party? I know you remember how trashed I was that night. She wrote a poem and taped it to my door. It was ridiculous.

Or! When Isaac first painted his room red and black years ago, and one day we came home and my mother had taped signs all over the apartment pointing to Isaac's room that said, "This way to the sexy room." He was so annoyed, but it was very very funny.

I love your mom, can I have her? I bet you didn't know I went to Purchase with Regina Spektor, she graduated the year after me :P I dug her then and I dig her now, it's just weird that she's all major record label instead of playing tiny bars like she used to (or campus concerts).

I find it really funny when I walk around and hear her on the radio. Good for her getting successful, but it is a little odd.

My mom rocks. You can borrow her for a bit, but I want to keep her.
