Piece 2

(I am the explanation)
"He's a charlatan. Have you ever wondered why you believe? It's because he told you to." Lucifer looked up, looking directly into Waverly's eyes. His own catlike, broken and bruised. Where once there was delicate tenderness, there was only a hollow shell. They can still swallow me. She thought as she stared at them.
"He told me to believe once too. And I did. But in the end, he betrayed me." His eyes narrowed, taking on the form of an old man who had been scorned by a lover. Something in them made Waverly want to quiet him, keep everything from his mind and allow him to once again live in the now, in the illusion he had made for himself. But she knew it was too late, all that was over as he continued. "Ages ago, we walked among man as equals. But man, in it's infancy became frightened of us. There were those of us that took advantage of that fear and prayed upon them. Still others, like myself, felt pity for them and wished to create a new utopia." He looked away, gathering his thoughts. he wouldn't look at Waverly now, she had seen him at his most vulnerable. "I asked him to make that Eden, and in doing so, questioned if what he had first created was right. He told me to create a place where there would be harmony." He looked out the window. "So I did. And this," He gestured around the room as if the room encompassed the entirety of Nihiz. "Was the result. When I showed it to him he just laughed. When he had finished laughing he told me I had tainted myself and cast me to this place. He said the animals needed tending. It was then I realized he no longer cared." He looked to the table, at the cup she had been drinking from moments before. "Jezabel broke from me then, creating herself anew as the edron. From her position she ruled over everything hateful in the world." Once again his eyes shifted, this time to the snow falling outside, Jezabel's snow. "Do you see now why I can’t face her? I can’t destroy the only thing I have left." He said softly. Something inside him cried out that he was lying, but he ignored it. "She is the only part of me still alive."
Waverly's eyes narrowed and her tone turned cold as the ice forming around the windows. "I only see weakness where there once was strength. You've betrayed yourself." And with those final words, she left. Lucifer sat, alone in the empty and dark room.
She's gone. . . He thought looking to the ground, searching for the answers in his overly elaborate carpet. Everything seemed so out of place, everything seems so distorted now. . . without her.

*After this she finds out that Jezabel is actually Lucifer's other half*
