The dinner had been perfect and just what the two of them needed. After all it was Christmas day. They were now walking back to their apartment hand in hand, smiling. This sure had been the best day for Kazuya and the best gift he could have imagined was walking beside him holding his hand.
When they reached the door and Kazuya was going to unlock it he found it already unlocked. He frowned. “Jin, didn’t we lock the door before going to the restaurant?” Jin nodded which made Kazuya slightly worried but opened the door anyway and they both walked into the hallway of their apartment.
Before closing the door Kazuya light the room. “MERRY CHRISTMAS!” was the first thing that sounded and before Kazuya could react, six people was standing in front of him, smiling.
“What the?” Kazuya asked when he recognized his and Jin’s friends. “You said that you were going to be out of town.” He pointed at his four band-mates. Only when Jin hugged him from behind did he remember the phone call he had overheard.
“Merry Christmas, sweetie.” Jin whispered into his ear. “This is just a little surprise from all of us to you. Did you really expect to spend Christmas day all alone?” knowing that this was in fact the case, Jin smiled and kissed his boyfriend on the cheek.
“Do you really think that any of us would miss the opportunity to spend Christmas with you, Kazuya?” Koki being the one to talk. “When this Baka behind you told us that he wanted to surprise you on Christmas day by coming home, we all agreed to help him.”
Kazuya felt the tears starting to come so he turned around in Jin’s embrace to hide his face. “Thank you.” Was all he could say before the sobbing started and his tears finally started to fall.
After a while the eight of them placed themselves in the living room talking about different stuff. Then suddenly Jin stud up from the seat beside Kazuya.
“Everyone!” He said getting the attention. “I have an announcement to make. Since it’s Christmas and we are all gathered here together, I want to ask you all for something.” He said the last part while pointing at the six friends. “I want you to be witness to this.” Then he turned to Kazuya. “Kazuya, Kazu-chan. I know that ever since I left for US you have been feeling lonely and neglected. That’s why I want you to have this.” He handed over a small box. “With this gift, I want to say that when you feel lonely or neglected or something alike, I hope this gift will help you remember that you are never alone. I’m always with you no matter what. I love you and I want to spend every second with you.”
Kazuya looked at the small box a while before opening it, finding a ring in gold inside. First he didn’t know how to respond to what Jin had said then he felt like every word he could find was less worthy and could not explain what he felt right at the moment. He looked at Jin for a long time before he stud up and kissed his boyfriend on the mouth. “I love you.”
In the background whistling and cheering were heard from their friends. After a while they started to open the other gifts and in the end there were only two gifts left. The one from Kazuya to Jin and the gift from Jin to Kazuya that had been sent a few days ago. Kazuya got a little confused since he had already been given a gift from Jin. Jin on the other hand opened his last gift and saw the fedora hat Kazuya had brought him. He smiled and hugged Kazuya and thanked him.
Kazuya looked confused on the package on his hand. “Jin, I already got my gift. What is this?” He asked his boyfriend.
Jin smiled at him. “Open it and you’ll see.” He answered.
Kazuya did as told and ended up starring at the content inside the box. The first thing that he saw was the letter with his name on it, written in Jin’s handwriting. He opened it and read it.
Dear Kazu-chan!
Merry Christmas.
Please follow the instructions below.
After reading this letter, close the box and enter an empty room.
Make sure no one will enter.
Open the box again and take out the second letter and open it…
Done that? Good.
Now continue to open the smaller box below the letter.
If I’m not home, you’ll get the picture of the gift when I get back.
If I’m already home then you probably got the special gift and can figure out why you get this gift too…
Now there is only one thing for me to say.
If I’m by any means not home yet.
I’m sorry for not being able to make it in time for Christmas this year but I hope you’ll have a wonderful Christmas anyway.
And I love you.
Love, your Jin
When Kazuya had read the letter he went to the empty bedroom and closed the door to find out what the rest of the gift was, leaving the others in the living room talking and laughing about memories. Jin had been sure that he would get home in time but just to make Kazuya more surprised he had sent the second half of his Christmas gift earlier to his boyfriend. The two letters inside the box was nothing special really. The first one was the handwritten letter where he told Kazuya how sorry he was for not being home in time and the other was a two-way ticket to LA including a key to his apartment in LA. The box below the letter was the interesting part though. What it contained will always be kept as a secret to anyone except the sender and the receiver.
A few minutes passed before Kazuya stormed out of the bedroom and didn’t stop until he ended up in Jin’s lap and hugged him. “Thank you, thank you, thank you.” He rambled into Jin’s ear while hugging him even tighter.
After a few hours of chatting and drinking with their friends it was time for their friends to leave since there would be work waiting for them tomorrow. They said their goodbyes and soon Jin and Kazuya were left alone in their apartment. They cleaned up before getting ready for bed.
Once in bed Jin hugged Kazuya tightly and whispered into the younger’s ear. “Kazu, what did you wish for this Christmas?” he kissed his boyfriend below the ear.
Kazuya smiled and cuddled closer into the embrace. “Everything I could ever wish for have already come true.” Then he paused then chuckled when he remembered something. “Everything except one thing.” He turned around in the embrace to be able to face Jin.
Jin looked confused at his boyfriend. “What is that?” though the only answer he got was the longing kiss telling him exactly what that one thing was. Jin still found it quite marvellous that after all these years that just one kiss could make all his blood travel south and make his mind go blank, except the part of his mind that was about his Kazuya.

The last words that were spoken from both of them before they felt asleep in each other’s embrace, was the word that they only let the other hear.
“Aishitemasu.” Jin kissed Kazuya.
“Aishitemasu.” Kazuya answered before falling into a wonderful sleep where no worries about not seeing Jin again existed. They both knew that no matter what Kazuya would always have Jin and Jin would always have Kazuya.
THE END
*That was the whole fic, hope you all liked it. Merry Christmas^^
