Chapter 3 ~ Day off

Madeline and Veronica didn’t meet the KAT-TUN members the next day and on the second day it was their day off so they didn’t expect to see them that day either. Since it was their only day off in the week they decided to take it easy. After changing into some Free-day-ish cloths they walked to the town to eat some late breakfast at the golden dragon’s restaurant. They arrived five past ten so they were unsure if they still had breakfast since they always been there before half past nine. Right outside the restaurant there were a lot of girls but neither Madeline nor Veronica could see what it was that was so interesting so they just walked inside.

“Good morning,” Darren greeted the two girls. “I see it’s your day off today.”

“Yeah, we overslept.” Veronica said sheepishly. “Is it still time for breakfast?”

“Well, not really but since you’re our only regular costumers in the morning we can fix something.” Darren answered thoughtfully.

“Thanks a lot.” Veronica said while bowing her head.

Andy who just looked out to tell Darren something was surprised to see the two girls at this hour and said.

“I thought that you guys had eaten at another restaurant this morning since you didn’t get here early as usual.”

“No we overslept since it’s our only free day this week.” It was Madeline who answered.

“Well you’re hungry then. The usual table is free so you can just take your seat,” Andy announced.

The girls thanked the two boys and walked into the restaurant to sit down at their table. As usual the window was opened since it was so warm in the restaurant at this time of the year. When Madeline and Veronica looked out through it they were stunned. Just outside in the empty space behind the restaurant the KAT-TUN members were acting and dancing and singing. All of them to busy to registrant that they were now watched from every angle possible.

“Wow, their making their music video here.” Veronica said to no one in particular.

“I think we’re having a lucky day today.” Madeline smiled.

“If you mean that you have a lucky day because you get to eat breakfast this late it’s really not a problem,” Andy was heard from not to far away.

The two girls were surprised by the comment and turned around just in time to see Andy and Darren arrive at the table with their breakfast. Darren, who had noticed that the girls had watched the group of six boys outside singing and dancing said.

“Don’t mind them. Their just here for some video or something.”

“Yeah, we kind of saw them the other day.” Veronica said with a dreaming voice.

“You know who they are?” Darren regretted the question the same time he voiced it.

“Yes, They are KAT-TUN, a very famous Japanese group that is one of many from the agency Johnny’s Jimusho.” Veronica exclaimed in knowledge.

“I thought that people from north Europe didn’t know any of the Asian group.” Darren knew that comment was as stupid as it sounded. “I mean it’s so far from you.”

“I see your point.” Veronica did understand the meaning but felt that she had to explain to Darren. “It is far away but since both I and Madeline have an interest it’s kind of obvious that we would know at least something about the music, right. We just happened to know about this group.”

“So you are fans to them?” Darren just couldn’t stop the questioning.

“Yes you can say that.” Veronica smiled.

Andy who had listened to every word that had been said felt kind of irritated that both Madeline and Veronica could talk about those artists as they really knew them.

“Anyway, what do they have that we don’t?” he asked.

“Andy, are you jealous of KAT-TUN?” Madeline thought it was kind of cute that he was though.

“No, why would I be,” Andy got defensive. “It’s just that I and Darren have tried to get together with you two since the first day you ate here which haven’t been very successful. And then these guys show up and you two are stuck. I just don’t get it.” he blurred out then bit his lip.

Madeline thought this topic was so tiring and she knew Veronica felt that way too. “Andy you know that I like you. As a friend that is. No one knows what will happen when this month is over and we’ll leave for Japan to work there. I don’t want to lose the friendship we have.”

Veronica just agreed. “That goes for me too Darren. It’s just easier to keep long distance friendship too.”

“What about those guys then?” Darren couldn’t help it, he was jealous, and a lot to.

“What about them?” Veronica countered back. “They are our idols, that’s all there is.”

Both Veronica and Madeline felt bad for have to say that to their friends at the restaurant but what would they do otherwise. They ate their breakfast while looking at their idols watching them repeat their dance steps and then taping them in order to make their music video. They sat there just looking at the live ‘making off’ for one hour after finishing their breakfast.

“So, what are we going to do today?” Veronica asked her friend. “Sit here all day and watch KAT-TUN or do something else.”

“That would be fun,” Madeline smiles, “but I don’t think that’s a good idea.” Turning her head towards the kitchen where she knew both Andy and Darren were.

“How about biking then?” Veronica suggests. “We can borrow bikes at the hotel.”

“That’s a good idea. Let’s go.”

And the two girls started to leave the table oblivious that Koki had just seen them and that very second that they left he was informing Jin about it.

“Their here, look.” Koki turned his own head at the same time towards the girls, seeing that they were leaving the table. “They’re leaving.”

“Who, Oh, their here” Jin exclaimed.

“Not much longer.”

“Guys, we need to practice on the dance steps. Don’t just stand there and talk.” Kame called them.

Jin turned back to Koki and said. “I’ve got an idea.”

Jin went to their manager to ask him about what they needed to do during the day.

“You need to get this part right, then you can have the rest of the day off.” Their manager answered.

“Thank you.” Jin said while bowing his head.

After telling Koki about the result they started to work really hard to be able to finish up early. It took them just a half an hour and then they were of to the hotel.
