Hmmm. It's strange. This year, I've found myself less thinking "Merry Christmas" and more "Happy Holidays". My grandma would say this is the problem with taking the church out of school, since apparently no one gets to celebrate Christmas anymore. But then, it was never a religious thing for me, it was just a tradition. Maybe it also has to do with

Yeah, the same thing is going on in Canada. Like at one school they changed the words in "Silver Bells" from Christmas to festive ("It's festive time in the city..."). And at my school we had a holiday breakfast rather than a Christmas breakfast.
I don't think any holiday should have to be censored just to be politically correct. I mean, I don't think people should stop saying "Merry Christmas" if that's what they celebrate. But at the same time, I do think other holidays should get some recognition, since you never hear "Happy Hanukkah" or anything. I don't know.

And I'm pretty much agnostic. But if I ever (god forbid) have kids, I'm gonna raise them to celebrate Christmas. I mean, I think the holiday has sort of morphed into this cultural thing. Like, back when I was in school, even muslims and jews would give out christmas cards and gifts. And it would be too weird to not have a tree, and ...it's a nice thing, I think. to have on day where you make an effort to buy people gifts and focus on "yadada the important things in life".
Which is possibly what Thanksgiving is for you guys? But I never had that. but hey, I pretty much plan on settling in America, so ...wow. One day I'll celebrate Thanksgiving. That's weirdly exciting to think about.
I may grab some of those songs later. I hope you had a verry merry christmas! =)
