I've never liked Buffy.  When it started it was so popular that I was jsut sick of hearing about it.  Doesn't help when I went to a school where 13-14 ear olds having kids wans't uncommon, and the big "controversy" was Buffy having sex at 16.  Then, I stop hearing about it all the freaking time, just in time to hear how

I liked Buffy. I watched it when it first aired while I was in high school, but I wasn't really a fangirl and nor was I into the whole Buffy/Angel relationship which seemed to be what everyone liked. If you're going to watch it, the earlier seasons are the best anyway IMHO. $15 seems like a really good deal for new ones. It's a different show than ATS, but it's fun:) I say give it a shot.

seen the movie- didn't like the movie.
Love Angel. Like you don't get all the Buffy references. I've seen maybe an episode here and there of Buffy, like some of the effects but have other things to spend my money on first.
If I knew someone who owned the whole whole series, I would probably be more than willing to give it a chance, but right now, this is not on my top five or even 10 to buy list.

The buffy Movie WAS cheesy and corny, but it was funny and I also did like it. :P

I used to watch Buffy, but wasn't all "OMGUMUSTWATCH!" about it. I did enjoy it for a while, but then I got really bored of it. :/

Iunno. If I were you, I'd watch Season 1, which you have, and if you get the urge to see what's next, then get the rest. XD

I felt the same as you did at first, then got Season 1, and started watching it around the last season and was confused but.....semi hooked. It's a good show if you cut out all the hype that was around it.
