Don't have much of an opinion on the whole deal-y-oh with your friend there, xept that I think you should just let her burn in the fires of her screw ups, especially since you've tried to help before to no avail. *nodnods*

On the laptop thing, go online and search for a new cable. Particularly Ebay. You'll probably find a really cheap, WORKING replacement for it on there and quite quick. My ex needed one for her lappy and she found one for I think... 20 bucks? Yea, about that. *nodnods*

Well at least you searched for a replacement early-ish, instead of waiting... what was it? About 3 years or so before even looking to see if there are replacements. :P

If it will get your fired for telling her what is going on, best to let her deal. If it won't get you messed with, tell her in a quick message that you noticed some questions being asked about her absences and that she might want to get her shit together.

If she listens, then things will work out and you can deny telling her anything specific. If she doesn't listen, then get some popcorn and watch her crash and burn. That's pretty much all you can do. It's one of those "damned if you do and damned if you don't scenarios" that everyone has to go with.
