Jesus has an iPod playlist?

I think I approve of your herisy...most theologies state that many of the rules don't apply to God because he's infinite, the kind of person who can give everyone in the world his personal attention at the same time and thus would never be out of touch. But it does, within the mythological framework fo the Bible, explain why a somewhat-less-than-infinite God (the type who has saints & layer and layers of angels to help deal with the nitty-gritty) might experience such a findamental shift of heart.

run a websearch for jesus+ipod. It's worth reading.

Aside from that, my point was that even with omniscience and omnipresence and infinite intelligence, you just don't get it until you feel it on your skin. You can get a bloodless knowledge of temperature by looking at a thermometer, but unless you stand out there in shorts and a T-shirt, you won't understand what it means to be cold. You can know down to the individual cell how much damage someone has suffered from a dagger's stab or a sword's swing, but if you haven't taken on flesh and felt it yourself, you won't understand the pain. You can study psychology all you want, but you won't understand temptation unless and until you yourself are tempted.

there's a difference.

I've read your heresy -- actually, read it while you were still talking to Chris -- and my full and complete reaction will take a while. I have all sorts of proto-reactions bubbling around in my head, and it may take a little while for them to mature and find Biblical references. I understand why you find this heresy appealing; it does make a kind of visceral sense. At one point, in the early days after my conversion, I might even have agreed with it, or wanted to. Now, however, my view of God has changed (matured? improved? I hope.), and the main reaction I have is, "But there is no difference. The God of the Old Testament IS the God of the New, and there's no need to explain any difference; the one flows logically from the other ( ... )

So are you someone who regards your work as a private diary or do you feel you've posted something to the Internet at large that people can link to?

Feel free to link as you will. Nothing of mine that you can read is private.

That is a phenomenally cool idea. And one of the few I've heard that makes sense!
