Soba in hand, Jiro was in a race against time. He had to get back to the park in time for the fireworks. It would have been a lot easier if his uncle had just let them take the soba from the pub this year. Once his uncle said no, Jiro didn’t push. Of course the closest ramen shop had to be the one Miyadai worked. But perhaps that was for the better

She was not surprised that it was crowded, but she was surprised to see Jiro and his friends with instruments set up. She found herself getting closer out of curiosity until she was standing right next to the area they'd set up. She tilted her head to the side, giving her a look that was similar to how a kitten might regard some odd insect it was considering pouncing on.

Amanda blinked at him and came over obediently. "Jiro-kun has a pretty voice." She said as she approached, a little wide-eyed as she looked the band over. She could play a violin, but had always been curious about guitars. She was watching his hands as he played with an obvious fascination.
"Guitar is very different from a violin." she commented, an innocently sweet smile lighting up her face.

Jiro was strumming the guitar quietly as she spoke, grinning at her for the compliment. "Thanks! I hafta watch what I drink though because it gets raspy pretty fast."
He laughed at her comparison to the other string instrument. "Yeah definitely a big difference. But I do love the sound of the violin because it's so emotional. Its low pitch is like whispering in the wind and warm like a blanket, but then you go higher and higher, less relaxing and more enthralling and intense. And then it stops and whispers again. Do you play violin?"
