Dolls

I want a ball joint doll, however I am having dificulty falling in complete love with one. can someone give me advice how they knew their dolls we made for them? How did you know you were in love and had to have the modles of doll you own?

I only have one doll so I don't have that much personal experience. Basically, I had an original character that I knew I wanted to get a doll for. It was really a matter of finding a doll that "fit" the character. (For example, I knew I wanted around a 60cm boy doll with half-closed eyes and a smirk. I eventually got a DoT Homme Ducan. His face fit my character perfectly. <3)

I know that some people get dolls the opposite way: they like the mold of the doll and then invent a character for it. I guess it works either way? Do you have a character you want for the doll already? Or are you looking around for doll that fits your aesthetics?
