i dunno. microsoft is still a technology company. it doesn't have to compete in the social network environment if it doesn't want to. then again there's a crowd that believes first there was the p.c., then local networks, then internet and the browser, then the social graph. which would strongly suggest microsoft better take notice. i can go either way.

hmm, i don't know whether it has to compete but i can imagine it's certainly advantageous to do so.
