Someone should write an essay about how Facebook is an interesting way to find cast-off ephemera. There's all kinds of random junk I've pursued and learned about just because someone I knew posted a link to it

facebook... and it's style of "friending" is making me realize how many people I've known are complete fucking idiots. And of course, present company excluded, the stupider they are, the more kids they have. And I have found that the more menacing, violent, and drunk people were in high school, the more likely they are to be republican fans of Glenn Beck.

I have most of those people on "ignore." But are you really surprised they turned out to be Republicans? They were even then, man.

It is "surprising" that the people who constantly bitch about personal responsibility and moral order are irresponsible and amoral. I mean... you think Republicans would be able to keep their own shit in order, but the preponderance are... yahoos, drunken, loudmouth louts, mothers of five, etc...

I think the key to Republicanism (or at least this kind) is retention of childlike irresponsibility into adulthood. That, coupled with a total inability to internalize societal values.
