Am I the only one for whom it's almost impossible to get the page to post a new entry? This place is getting annoying.

Oh... wow! I woke up in a new livejournal. It's about time. There were a very small number of things that .bml could do well. Anyway, don't be one of those instant, knee-jerk, "The new thing SUCKS!" people. It makes one look old. I suspect that the "old" livejournal will always be lurking under whatever they pop in on top of it. It's there somewhere. I have a page full of many livejournal links for obsolete features. It's around here somewhere. You can always try: sanpaku.livejournal.com/post.bml ... or just guess a bunch of synonyms for what you want to do and stick .bml after them. http://www.livejournal.com/similar.bml, new.bml, old.bml, paid.bml ... just try things. Kind of like guessing at yahoo. guess.yahoo.com, secretmoney.yahoo.com, etc...
