I vote DM splits us because I'm selfish and want a greater chance of experienced players in my squad. I also want to keep the groups co-ed. I guess I can easily see all the experienced people grouping together or the guys wanting to be separate. Just patterns I've noticed. Us newbies are cute and impressionable! And we girls smell so much better! :D

Well, here's my opinion. Players choose, unless something was plot related and you wanted certain people to be in specific missions ( ... )

I'm no D&D pro, but I like the former idea too. It's fair and also balanced, which is good if we all don't want to make Joe happy killing all of us. No names shall be on that dice tower! Not in this game, mwa ha ha!
