I think I'm with you on the expectations count. I really want to think the best of people and sometimes I am pleasantly surprised, mostly disappointed.
But that doesn't stop me trying!
If that cyclist was not intelligent to listen to your advice, they are simply going to have to learn the hard way...
Maybe it is the teacher in us that has high expectations for society. Honestly, though, if we didn't believe in our students and didn't have high expectations for them, chances are that they won't rise to the occasion, right?
So how does that make the world different? I wish more people would express their expectations to society as a whole... I really think this is the reason why there are less activists now (esp. in north america) than 20 years ago.
