"I was in junior high, I had experienced some sort of imbalances in my sex hormone; it is not that I wanted to become a girl, but it had a big impact to me to have that kind of gay character that suddenly entered my life.(?)"
this part misses a lot of nuances and in my opinion it's a dangerous thing to mistranslate as it will bring about some misconceptions... what he says is more like
"In junior high, there was a period where I felt a bit insecure about gender distinction. That's not to say I wanted to become a girl, but at that time gender neutral characters [such as Yoshiki] came forth as relevant to me."
中性 could be translated as "gender neutral" or "androgynous" but definitely not "gay"!
i hope i didn't come off as too rude, translating an interview like this is long and difficult but i don't want people to misunderstand Aki. keep up the good work ♥
Thank you for this new part! ;) And it seems that many jrockers are influenced by Yoshiki, heh... I always hear of Hyde but lately I see that they mention Yoshiki as well :)
