I was just recently thinking about my mother's brush with death, as it happened right around this time of year just before I moved into town. In fact, it delayed my move by a month. It's weird, by the time I knew she'd nearly died it was all fine and there was just the healing process to go through. It's much easier to gloss over what nearly happened and concentrate on everything else, but it just hit me again, and made me realize how likely it is that she will die before I do. I don't like that. But I want to try to come to grips with it a little more before I supress it again. You know, just on general principle

My old roommate used to go scavenging on garbage night. I went out with him a couple times but everything I found I ended up throwing away the following week.
