Creative Writing Prompt #231
Reasons I can’t go to work today
1) Last night I went on a drunken bender with a few personal friends and ended up in Louisville, as work starts at eight and I haven’t been to sleep yet, or driven back to Ohio, I won’t be at work today.
2) I am facing a slight spider infestation in my house right now. The resulting bites have left me as immobile as a large boulder.
3) The dogs that my neighbor owns completely trashed my house as I was getting ready to leave for work. It’s going to take all day just to straighten up the kitchen.
4) I just reached level forty-nine with my night-elf on WOW. If I stop playing now I will lose all of my exp and I’m about to hit fifty.
5) In another attempt to kill me, my boyfriend cut my break lines.
6) Some bastard unicorns were hanging out by our house, goading deer into jumping in front of traffic. This happened to me on the way to work, thus my car is totaled, the deer is dead, and I don’t have a ride.
7) I seem to have contracted mono from my recent foray into the local BDSM scene. I’ll be out for at least two weeks.
8) My long term boyfriend decided to ask me to marry him by taking me out to Japan. I thought it was just a day trip to Saint Louis. Wish us luck.
9) My boyfriend got hit by a car as I was leaving for work. It wasn’t my fault, I didn’t know he was picking up the newspaper.
10) I just found out that I’m legally dead. Please forward condolences to my family.
