Title: Because of You (part 3 of ??)
Rating: PG
Pairing: Yoonmin (Yoongi + Jimin)
Length: ~3,600
It's not until late the next morning when Jimin is still half asleep and thinking it's kind of warm and cramped, his throat is unbearably dry, that he wakes up enough to nearly feel his heart jump out of his chest.
There's soft breathing at his ear and his pants are riding nearly halfway down his ass, his shirt wrinkled beyond recognition and pulling in the strangest parts, clearly a result of sleeping in it. He remembers he was with Yoongi and the room is still Yoongi's, but why is he in the bed?
They were drinking, he remembers how Yoongi had him try tequila and he nearly cried at how bad it burned as it went down. Then they watched a movie... Pokémon? No... Oh, Rush Hour 2? He can't remember anymore. He doesn't really remember anything after laughing at Yoongi's pathetic imitation of Jackie Chan.
He quietly sits up, fixing the blanket as he does so as to not let any of the cold air disturb Yoongi, who's in such a deep sleep he doesn't even budge when Jimin nearly trips over a belt on the floor. Jimin fixes his clothes as quickly and nicely as possible though he knows he looks like he just slept under a bridge. As he looks for his phone (which he ends up finding it under the TV) he quickly checks the clock in Yoongi's room to see that it's only 9am so he comes up with an idea. Tearing a sheet of paper out of his notebook, Jimin scribbles a note as neatly as he can with the slight headache threatening to turn his brain into molasses and sets it on the table. He silently vows to himself that he will never drink tequila again, even if it's Yoongi pouring the drinks. A quick glance at Yoongi still sleeping peacefully makes him debate running his fingers through the older's hair or hurry to set his plan in motion.
Throwing all doubts aside and ignoring the small voice at the back of his mind telling him, "Really bad idea, Park Jimin!," he reaches out and softly runs his fingers over Yoongi's hair. Much to his surprise, the older's hair is even softer than he imagined it would be. Absentindedly, he threads his fingers through Yoongi's bangs and the elder leans into his touch, curling deeper into the blanket he's almost drowning in. With a huge smile now gracing his quite horrific state, Jimin quietly goes about his plan.

Two hours and a shower later, Jimin returns and is almost surprised to see Yoongi hasn't woken up yet. Save for his changed position where he's now hugging a pillow and one leg is hanging haphazardly off the bed, he's seems to be in a pretty deep sleep. Gathering up the note he had scrawled out saying he would be back, Jimin gets to work at setting up their breakfast on the small table.
There's barely any room for the takeout box of whole grain pancakes, plates of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and small cartons of milk. Once he's finally satisfied with the layout of plates and food, Jimin is about to stand up, one arm already at his knee to push himself up, when Yoongi stirs and is stretching at the bed, long arms cracking as they knock against the wall, earning a short and hoarse "Fuck" from him.
"Hyung, good morning," Jimins coos and with a bright smile on his face, he chuckles at how fast Yoongi's head snaps to look at him, eyebrows furrowed and fist in the air as he'd been about to rub the sleep from his eyes.
"Jimin?," Yoongi rasps out and as he clears his throat, Jimin feels his palms gaining a thin sheet of sweat.
"Mhmm," Jimin looks down at the food and gestures for Yoongi to sit down across from him, where his food awaits him, "I hope you don't mind I brought breakfast for you. I'm not sure if you're allergic to anything or if you even like pancakes but I tried my best. If you don't like it I also ha-" Jimin is reaching for his bag containing some cereal, when he stops as he sees Yoongi sitting across him with an amused expression, one eyebrow raised and a slight smirk on his face.
"You talk really fast, don't you?," Yoongi chuckles and as he mumbles a "Thanks," he starts cutting his pancakes into squares.
"Sorry, I kind of talk fast when I get nervous," Jimin's staring at Yoongi's fingers as they readjust to hold his fork and knife, pale skin a stark contrast to the black plastic.
"Why're you nervous? Not like I'm gonna get mad you brought me breakfast," Yoongi says amidst bites of food in his mouth. Jimin just offers a small smile at Yoongi, meeting his eyes for a few seconds, "You still jumpy from yesterday? Wait, was it yesterday? Well, when we were at the library. I told you it's not like I'm mad; I just didn't answer right."
Jimin laughs and Yoongi stops as he's bringing another forkful of pancakes to his mouth.
"What?"
Yoongi's not sure why Jimin's laughing but he still uses the back of his hand to try and get rid of something he assumes is on his face. When Jimin doesn't elaborate, he continues eating but doesn't stop looking at Jimin, who's still staring at him.
Jimin's sure he could watch Yoongi eat and it would bring him neverending joy, specially if it's accompanied by the smile he now knows is a nice look on Yoongi.
"Hyung," Jimin starts as Yoongi reaches for his carton of milk, whom swiftly opens it with his fingers.
"Hmm?"
"I like you," Jimin says, voice soft and cheeks dusted in a soft pink as he looks at Yoongi who has now stilled for a second, hand still resting on the carton of milk.
There's a pause and Jimin swears he can hear the 'ping!' of the elevator from down the hallway and Yoongi starts moving again, he takes the milk and takes a drink, hoping to help his food slide down easier as he looks straight at Jimin, who looks up just as Yoongi's eyes are taking him in.
Yoongi recognizes the look on Jimin's face. He's seen it many times from so many people but he doesn't want to do this now, tomorrow, or ever. Now he knows why Jimin was so odd yesterday, why he even agreed to tutor him in the first place, and why he let Yoongi get away with so much last night.
"Thanks, but I'm not interested in any relationships."
Yoongi knows it's cruel to do this to Jimin since it's not Jimin's fault he likes an asshole he hardly knows anything about but Yoongi doesn't want to be the cup Jimin is trying to fill with his love. If anything, Yoongi knows he's cracked, broken, letting whatever tries to fill him seep right back out.
But, what Yoongi doesn't know, is that Jimin is determined to win him over and the glint in his eyes is not from tears but a spark going off in the midst of his whirlwind of emotions. Jimin looks calm and collected and whatever traces of the flustered boy that were there prior to the confession are now gone and replaced by a smile and crescent eyes. The Jimin Yoongi's looking at is still smiling and although he knows Jimin understands he just turned him down, Yoongi's still surprised when Jimin starts chatting away about everything and nothing all at once, like if he didn't just get rejected.

"Seriously, did you think he was going to just accept you like that?"
The last thing Jimin wants to deal with on a Monday is Seokjin, even less so a Seokjin that is only rubbing salt on his currently healing wound. Slamming his dorm door a bit too hard after walking in after Seokjin, Jimin makes a face at the older's back and slips his shoes off. Totally immature but he doesn't care.
"Hyung, if you're not going to help I can just ask someone else."
"I will help. But I'm not going to go to those things you went to. The atmosphere seems kind of crazy."
It's been about a week and Jimin has been hanging off of Yoongi (or his shoulder) every chance he gets but it's not much seeing as Yoongi is a music production major and Jimin is a dance major. They do have one class together, though: Psychology. (Yoongi assured Jimin that he's not in the class because he's stupid, he just got lazy when he had to take it.)
Jimin managed to trade seats so he's now next to Yoongi. It took a whole day of bribing the guy that usually sat there which resulted with an offer of five boxes of cookies for the guy to give in ("Thin mints or nothing!" "Fine! Fine!").
"It's nice that you both sit together and all, but what is your next plan?," Jin asks as he rummages under Jimin's bed, searching for a granola bar he knows is stashed under there somewhere, "Borrow a pencil?"
With a sigh, Jimin sits on his bed, "So funny. You should get a gig at the café during open mic," Seokjin throws a shoe at Jimin, whom narrowly dodges it. "I actually have no idea, hyung. There's only so much I can do and not get annoying in the process. He already made it clear he doesn't have an interest in a relationship." After a pause, he lifts his gaze to his now towering friend, eating a granola bar Jimin can't even recognize having stashed away. "But he didn't say anything about not liking me so I guess I'll just have to tough it out."
"Glad you came to that conclusion on your own because I've got zero advice."
"Hyung!," Jimin whines and lets himself fall backwards on the bed, hands going to his hair and pulling one way and another, leaving it a mess.
"Look," Seokjin takes a seat next to Jimin, tossing the granola bar wrapper into a trashbin near the bed, "If he can't see you that way right now, because you never know what can happen, you can instead make him realize that he likes being with you and try going from there. I mean, maybe you like Yoongi as... some idea you made in your head about him? Who knows, maybe he's not worth your time at the end."
"I never really thought about that..."
"When do you ever think, though? By the way, you should consider cleaning up under your bed. I think there's a dead animal under there," Seokjin stands, looking down at Jimin who's making a face of disgust, and starts heading towards the door. "I've got a group project so I'll catch you later, alright?"
"Cool."
"Clean under your bed, I'm serio-"
"Bye, Hyung!"
- -
Yoongi's irritated and he's not sure at what or with who. Actually, that's a lie. He knows why and he knows who caused this.
Jimin's been around him so much he's sure he can feel the younger approaching him long before he's hearing Jimin's voice at his ear saying anything from a "Hello, hyung!" to a "Hyung! I missed you!" He's even seen the kid hanging out by his dorm with some snacks or candy to give him because "It reminded me of you, hyung!" He still hasn't eaten the damn chocolate dipped marshmallow teddy bear shaped candy. It's not because it's cute, he just doesn't want to eat too many sweets.
Yoongi's not even sure why Jimin likes him when they don't really have much in common nor do they really seem too compatible. But if Yoongi's being honest with himself, he's just trying to find fault in whatever it is Jimin wants to start with him. It's not that Yoongi finds Jimin unattractive; the knots in his stomach that form when Jimin's shirts or pants hug against his skin speak for themselves. So it's definitely not anything about physical appearance; Jimin is definitely attractive. Too attractive. Yoongi isn't bothered by Jimin being the same sex since he once, briefly, dated a guy and has experience being with men. But what does stand as an obstacle is that Yoongi simply isn't interested in starting anything.
He has so much going on and with him being a semester and a half away from completing his major, he's trying to get everything done as fast and well as possible. So when Jimin sits down across from him at noon, lunch already being set on the table in the cafeteria, Yoongi can't help but sigh.
Jimin freezes, hands at the sides of his container's lid, which contains his fruit. "What's wrong, hyung?"
"Park Jimin," Yoongi is looking at Jimin and he hopes his expression is serious and not contrasting what he's about to say.
"Yes?"
"Why are you still hanging around me? You know I'm not interested." Yoongi has no time to be kind and gentle, he's quickly learned that if you give Jimin an inch, he takes a mile and then some.
Jimin's face doesn't even falter for a second but instead has soft smile as he looks at his container of still-covered fruit. "I know... But that doesn't make me like you any less or stop trying to at least be important to you in some way."
Yoongi is suddenly stricken with the desire to tease Jimin and he finds that incredibly odd. It isn't like Yoongi doesn't tease Namjoon or other friends, but he wants to make Jimin nearly cry in frustration and annoyance. He's a sick fuck and he knows it but it doesn't stop him from saying in a tone so convincing he would have believed himself, "Well, you can be the best man at my wedding."
Jimin had been removing the lid from his container but now the fuit is on both the floor and Jimin's lap, his mouth closed and his eyes wide and searching Yoongi's face, who's sure he's about to laugh at any minute now.
And he does, just as Jimin is opening his mouth to say something.
"I'm kidding, brat."
"Hyung!," Jimin's voice fails him and his already high pitched voice cracks. As Yoongi looks back at Jimin, he sees Jimin was really on he verge of tears and now he realizes he just feels like shit. Mark this as something on his mental list of Things Not To Do To Jimin.
Yoongi stops laughing and hands Jimin his napkin, one he's glad he hadn't soiled, "Hey, hey. No need to cry. I'm too much of an asshole to get married anytime soon."
Jimin takes the napkin and quickly takes a moment to put it to his face, hands holding it in place as he rests his forehead on them. He nods and soon he's looking at Yoongi again, fruit still in his lap and surely staining his pants. If the moment weren't so serious with words about to be said, Yoongi would have laughed.
"Hyung..."
Yoongi knows wha's coming, he always does when Jimin takes on this tone, but he's long since learned to just take it in stride and humor the kid even if he can't return his feelings despite his numerous attempts at setting Jimin straight.
"What?," it's not a question, merely a reply to make Jimin say what he's going to say since Yoongi knows he'll just keep repeating "hyung" until he gives in.
"I love you."
There is so much desperation and affection in Jimin's hushed whisper that it makes Yoongi look at Jimin. He's slightly startled that he meets Jimin's eyes and the younger's expression is so intimate he's afraid Jimin can see right into the deepest, darkest corner of his heart.
"I know that, brat. Tell me something I don't know."
Jimin's eyes take a mischevious glint and Yoongi is immediately regretting what he just said but it's too late and Jimin's suddenly stroking his cheek and smiling as athumb traces barely-there circles on the apple of Yoongi's cheek.
Yoongi's not sure if he's flattered or if he's mad at himself for giving Jimin this opportunity he clearly took full advantage of.
"Weirdo," Yoongi doesn't look at Jimin as shifting away from the younger's hand, sighing and cleaning up his soiled napkin and disposable chopsticks, putting them into the empty instant ramen container.
"Really? Well, I think you're cute," Jimin says and you could practically hear the joy radiating from him at that moment.
"You're really fucking gross," Yoongi snaps and Jimin laughs, "And incredibly stupid. You really have horrible taste."
"Well, I like you and nothing's going to change that," Jimin says as he's done cleaning up his fruit from his pants and tossing it into the trash bin. When he doesn't sit back down, Yoongi looks up at him only to realize he fell for the trap. Jimin's beaming at him, clearly enjoying the attention.
"I'll see you later, hyung. I've got something to do at the dance studio."
Yoongi really hates how Jimin tells him these things. It's not like he needs to know what Jimin is doing and all this really does is make him worry like an idiot until Jimin sends him stupid selcas or text messages, showing Yoongi he's indeed still alive and was not mugged and dying in some alley. Not that Yoongi would be of much help anyway, Jimin's fit and Yoongi's sure that the only one between them that would need help is him... What the fuck did he just think about...
"Just go. Stop reporting your every move to me," Yoongi replies and slides his trash down the table, barely making it into the bin.
Completely ignoring Yoongi's attempt at pushing him away again, Jimin smiles and with hands in his pockets, he leans over to Yoongi, "Hyung, just one date? Come on, it's not like you'll be commiting to me or anything. Just give me a chance to get to know you better."
And here it was. Again. Jimin had been asking Yoongi for a date for the past three days. Yoongi is growing tired of all of this, but he's also curious about how Jimin would be like just the two of them together. Not that he's been thinking up scenarios in his head.
With a sigh, Yoongi gets up from the table, slinging his backpack over a shoulder, "Look, Jimin," he starts and he already knows he lost round two with the look in Jimin's eyes, clearly expectant and sinfully adorable. Yoongi sighs again and closes his eyes, a hand going up and massaging his temples. He really should manage some kind of control over his actions whenever it involves the kid.
"Rules. One, I hate people that are late. Two, I don't like group date things. Three, Friday is the only day I can," and as soon as he's done, he finds Jimin quite possibly on the verge of self-combusting. He's only slightly worried until Jimin is smiling so wide his eyes are barely-there crescents and Yoongi's sure Jimin's face will be cramped for days.
"Yoongi-hyung! I'll pick you up at two, okay?! Thank you! You won't regret it!," and with a quick (and oddly really nice) kiss on Yoongi's cheek, Jimin is running to his class and screaming in joy, startling an innocent girl that had been walking past him.
Yoongi, on the other hand, is both regretting and looking forward to it. Now he has to make sure Jimin realizes what he's getting into because if his experience with first-timers means anything, he's aware Jimin probably has an innocent idea about this whole ordeal.
Taking out his phone, Yoongi sends a quick text to Namjoon, telling him to meet up at his dorm to help him move the last of his things to their shared apartment.
Yoongi's not sure what he's doing anymore but he knows that he's at least making Jimin happy so that's a start for now. Maybe doing this will guarantee him some sort of peace.
Or not.
Apparently, Jimin already told Hoseok and word got back to Namjoon. So now not only does he have to move the last of his things to their shared apartment, but he will now have to deal with Namjoon saying all sorts of comments ranging from "I didn't know you liked 'em young" to "What's with the sudden change of heart?" He looks at Namjoon, both standing inside his soon-to-be-former room and the bark of laughter the younger let out is enough to let Yoongi know it's going to be a long and annoying afternoon.
- -
"All I'm saying is that you put up a fight and you still gave in to Jimin."
Namjoon sets the last box of Yoongi's belongings in Yoongi's new room and the older refrains from throwing a book at Namjoon in fear of having to clean up anything. He's pretty sure his arms are now noodles.
"It's not about giving in. Having him pestering me all the time is just not an option. You know I'm too busy for this crap anyway. And it's not like showing him how much of a bad idea this is will be a bad thing. It'll save him from getting too carried away," Yoongi's lying on his bed, that took far too long to set up again, looking completely exhausted.
"No comment about that part, but it should also be Jimin's decision of who he wants to like, don't you think?," Namjoon takes a seat on the computer chair opposite of Yoongi.
And that's what Yoongi didn't want to hear. He knows it's the truth, that he has no right to decide who Jimin likes or doesn't like. But he doesn't want to talk about it anymore and will instead worry about it when the time comes. He's got two days until then, anyway.
"I'm starving," Yoongi whines, hoping this reminds Namjoon that there is no food in this apartment other than a giant jar of kimchi Namjoon's mother foced him to take.
Namjoon stands, stretching his arms over his head, audible pops in his spine making him grimace, "Same here. Let's go eat something. I'm in the mood for some sushi. How about it, hyung?"
"No sushi. We had that two days ago, Namjoon. Let's just go get some burgers instead."
"Hyung, that's even worse. Let's just order pizza."
"That sounds even better. I was realizing I might not to be able to move until tomorrow."
He'll worry about Jimin, Jimin's smiles, Jimin's gaze, and his own feelings (or lack thereof) later.

a/n: this was supposed to be posted last night at an ungodly hour of the night but i fell asleep, hahaha. anyway, not much happening and there's still a ton of stuff i have to fit in within around two parts. so this is going to get even longer with each part. i might do an epilogue as well but i'm not entirely sure as of now. i have more prompts for drabbles/one-shots than anything else, to be honest ~__~.... but yes, as always any feedback/criticism is welcome! sorry for any errors! i always seem to notice them after i publish these.... OTL
thanks to everyone that's reading this!
