well, nate may not be walking yet, but he sure as hell can climb.

onto the dining room chairs. onto the dining room table.
onto the porch chairs. onto the porch table.
he'll try for the porch railing, but i've managed to nip that in the bud. so far.

i'm a little frightened as to what his next mt. everest may be.

bambina was the same way. the nurse practitioner said it was 2nd child syndrome, which, ok.

she was about, hm, it was when we first met, so about 14m? and she spent a whole afternoon climbing to the top of the slide at wash sq park playground, the one in the sandpit, sliding down, then doing it over. over and over she did this. some other mom/caregiver came over to where a bunch of moms/caregivers were sitting and said, "is anyone watching the little girl in the red? on the slide??" and I said, "she's my daughter. yes." and she said, "ok!" and went away.

but in April, we were there, all of us, and I was looking at that slide thinking, jaysus! I let my BABY climb that thing?? it must be a good 7 feet off the ground! but, you know, she was a good climber. she knew how to smoke in the bathroom, too. Ben's already taught Nate, right?

nate since i wrote that has been back on the porch table, the dining roomchair again and on top of the toilet!!!
