MatsuriCon report

Well, like I said, my pictures have been up for a while on DSOD, but I decided to try something a bit different for the actual con report, so it took a bit longer. I don't know if I'll try to do others like this, since it was a pain, but if you guys enjoy this one better than the others, I'll consider it, lol. So, please give me feedback <3

Precon
Well, we had some minor communications in regards to panels early on, but it got taken care of pretty easily, and they still managed to squeeze our FMA and Inuyasha panels in. Urd-chan won a free badge, and I had an AA table, so that pretty much explains why we went. Well, I was worried that our badges might be screwed, but an e-mail from AA a couple days before helped assuage my fears. Fuu.

Friday
Cosplay: Nami, Skypeia battle with Gan Fall version (One Piece), debut
Panel: Full Metal Alchemist, Inuyasha

We got there extremely early, but we didn't know how long it would take us, since we hit some traffic and bad weather on the way down. But, lucky for us, it still took about as long as we thought. So, we got in and just sorta chatted with some staff and whatnot until we were checked into AA and able to set-up. After set-up, I ran to change into my cosplay.

Well, the result was pretty much expected...but everyone kept asking me about my 'automail.' I'm sure it didn't help that I did my FMA panel wearing it, lol.

There were literally swarms of Hetalia cosplayers. It just seemed to grow and grow as time went on, lol. Well, they were all grouped together, too, and kept running past AA (especially since one of them was a friend of mine). I swear I'll understand it one day ^^;

Our panels were really not at the best times. As you can see, no one who had an early or afternoon panel really had people show up. My FMA panel was evening, so it had more of a draw...but I was still recovering from my cold and a tad hoarse, plus no sleep the night before...so, it wasn't run the best @_@ At least people seemed to enjoy it (I hope).

That was pretty much all that happened on Friday. It was a rather slow day and my AA sales really showed it @_@ Everyone kept assuring me it would get bigger on Saturday, and I prayed it would...!

Saturday
Cosplay: Albel (Star Ocean 3)
Karaoke: Namida no Hurricane (Get Backers), but was supposed to be To The Light (Star Ocean EX)

Well, I started off Saturday morning early so that we could get the AA stuff set up as soon as possible. Fortunately, people were right and Saturday was much much bigger than Friday. Most of my sales period were on Saturday, and it put me to my low average rate for con sales, so it wasn't a total loss.

I love my Albel cosplay...but it comes with some problems, lol...

Fangirls are painful...;_;

Yeah...I spent all that time fixing up the skirt and the shoulder armor to make it fit...but, I didn't quite make the shoulder armor tight enough (it kept slipping off, ugh). And then...I forgot to take into the account the possibility that I may have lost weight elsewhere. It was hard to walk around, good thing I didn't have to much ^^; And, once again I broke the freaking gauntlet >< But, at least it wasn't until late at night, heh.

The Artist Alley was set up in a hallway, and there were like 5 or so tables along each wall, at least where I was. The tables next to me were empty for most of the days (all three, though on the 3rd, there was someone signing autographs at one of them for part of the day), but Lily-chan was two tables down, so I shouted to her, plus I made conversation with the people across the way.

I was really really happy with the sales I made on Zos Kias at this con! Considering the size of it, it did fairly well. Thanks so much to everyone who bought it! You have no idea how happy that makes me...!

That Yusuke cosplayer came by a couple times, but he finally gave up in the end. We pretty much figured out that he and his friends would be on the way home and suddenly it would be like, "SHIT! I remember now!" But, who knows? XD I was happy that he knew Kazehiko was a webcomic character, good job! And no, the girls who noticed the stuff on the table did not get to win, since they were disqualified (especially since earlier that day they had bought volume 1, although they hadn't been able to read it yet, lol).

Though it was last minute, they found some free time and stuck karaoke in! I was really hoarse, but I cannot resist, not at all! I wasn't able to stay for very long, but I got in there pretty early and went like 3rd or something. Sorry for my horrendous singing, everyone! I'm not usually that bad (at least I don't think so ;_; )

I spent most of Saturday night just sitting around doing nothing but chatting with other people. I ended up retiring from AA around 10, and I went up to the room to put pants on before heading over to the store across the way with Urd-chan to grab food. I was going to go back down after i ate, but I kinda threw up a bit (I need to take better care of myself at cons, I know), and even though it was just majorly mucus, I decided to call it a night and worry about things later. It's not like I do dances or anything, anyways, lol.

Sunday
Cosplay: Nami, Skypeia bikini top version (One Piece)

Sunday was really really slow, though at the same time, I was pretty active. I spent a lot of time talking to people I had run into throughout the con, lol. It was such a small con that I was able to make a lot of friends. I haven't had a chance to go and contact them yet, but I hope to today, since I pretty much finished everything I need to do, save for a map (lol, don't ask XD ).

For more information on "kyun", go watch that horrendous episode of One Piece called "Chopperman"...it happens sometime during the gap between Enies Lobby and Thriller Bark, I believe...but, I felt like Chopperman in it, with the reactions I got, lmao.

And that raps up my con report! So, now for the con rating~! *drumrolls*

This con had some minor problems in regards to communication, but they were really helpful when we finally figured out the problem, and the staff at the con was amazing. It wasn't the best run AA I've been to, but I'd consider it one of the best (sorry, but no one can beat ACen 2009's AA. It was sooo freaking amazing). Though it was a small con, I was really happy with it!

Therefore, this con gets...6/10! And yes, for me, that's high XD We intend to try to tackle MatsuriCon next year. Hope to see ya there!
