As I've barely gotten to the news since arriving in J-ville, I freaked out and ran to the BBC, whereupon I found that there was comparatively little to get worried about. And then it occurred to me that in that very fact, I'm in the luckiest .00001% of individuals in human history. Long and short of it is I'm terribly sorry for several hundred people, but I'm really glad none of them are you.
american news is reporting that israel has conducted air strikes on gaza for the past five days, and apparently our government is all right with it, blaming everything on hamas. the UN blames both sides but they're powerless to do anything. it's the biggest story here aside from the rod blagojevich scandal, not that gentiles really care (it's a case of "let them blow each other up" for much of the population).
