This is a very, very long entry so I'm using the cut thing just to save people's friends pages.
We clocked out at 12:30 tonight! What an aamazing close! We will totally get our arses kicked if they find out the extent of our cheating. Got home at 1am and forgot to put my wash on so iy's just got gone on now. I'm being extremely naughty and washing all my girths and some headcollars, leads etc when I'm not allowed to under any circumstances. I've got my music on, all the doors shut and the stuff has been put inside two pillows. Fingers crossed I a) don't get caught and b) it's clean when the wash is finished. I'm hoping to list quite a lot of it on ebay as although there is nothing wrong with the stuff, it doesn't get used and if I ever get a horse who is a different size I'll be wanting to be a snob and buy it new stuff. Unfortunately this means I'm going to have to attack the mound of leatherwork that has grown into a huge pile (I rescued some from the shed) and it's currently stinking my room out. My mother is bound to complain soon. It'll have to wait. I'm doing Romaine's 4-close tomorrow. It's Terry's shift though and he seems determined to have me on window 1 which I can't do because of physical disabilities. I swear to god I will walk out if I get shoved up there. I ain't fucking my spine up anymore for anyone. Terry has a bad back and because he can do certian stuff he expects others with a back problem to be able to do the same stuff. Hello! Crushed vertebrae here! Fucker. Least it's some hours. All I need is a shift on Friday and I'll be fine. Will try to stay til 4 on Saturday as well but with current sales it might not be possible. You never know.
My hair has stayed in really well although I have made an effort not to play, scratch or even touch it. Going to have to take it out soon enough as the ribbons will be getting put away until next year (might bring them out for a quick photo shoot if I get the chance :P). I also still want to get a picture of my hair when it's all brushed out as it's getting really long and I want to see it. And share it with the world of course. I do confess to having a slight obsession with my hair. I wash it everyday (usually) and refuse to let anyone cut it and I like it when people like it. I frequently surprise people with it as it's rare that I wear it down, at work it's either braided or in a bun and people never realise it's as long as it is and it's not uncommon that I hear "Woah Wendy, I didn't realise you had long hair". It always makes me smile. It really could use a trim. I cut it last time about 3 and a bit years ago when I was badly depressed and cut the lot off. Hee hee, everyone kept asking me where I got it done :P Should really pull my finger out and trim it since I'm allergic to hairdressers and don't really trust anyone else to cut it. Family members and close family friends used to chase me with scissors when I was younger as I always had it loose and unkempt back then. It's hard to keep fine, fly-away hair nice and neat(hence why it is always tied up now) and back then I didn't care what I looked like. Don't care much now but I like to keep it out of my way. Fiona says she'll trim it if I bring her a pair of scissors. Not sure if it's worth the risk.
The people I bought Silly off have been trying to ring me today while I was at work. 5 times. I wonder what they want this time. I told the mother last time she rang asking if she could buy her as a broodmare that I wasn't selling her and I'd tell them if I was. It was the child who rang today. She's left a message but I have no credit on my phone. Anyone know if you can access your orange voicemail without phone credit? I'm so nosey, I want to know what it says :P I suppose I could send her my new number (could have sworn I sent her mother my new one) but I'm not sure I want them to know it. I dislike getting phonecalls trying to buy Silly off me. After what happened the time they were going to have her, she ain't going ANYWHERE with them (cut a long story short, she reared up and fell backwards when they were trying to load her into a trailer - she's frightened of trailers - and she was very poorly for over a month).
I only have 29 hours next week but I should be able to scrouge an extra shift or two and we're going to get paid for attending the health and safety circle meeting. Apparently I wasn't picked because I'm accident prone although Mark reckons that's a good point. I think he just looked to see who wasn't at work but was due in a few hours afetrwards. Oh well, I'm not complaining, it'll look great on my CV and I might get to do some certificates or something.
The wahsing machine isn't making that much noise. Very encouraging. I'll use two pillowcases next time I need to wash something "illegal". Got another girth and a few headcollars + leads at the yard that need a good clean. Really need to get my light stable rug and my travel rug washed but it's putting them somewhere to dry thats the bugger. I'm not getting my turnout rugs washed and reproofed this year. My Horsewear one shouldn't need it as it's under guarantee and the Shires one got done last year and it's a touch too big for Silly anyway. Need to wash Jamal's old fleece rug. It's a lovely rug, hardly been used but it's gigantic on Silly, even now that she's putting weight on (414kg now! She's put on between 15-20kg! Finally!) and it's just taking up space so I am going to attempt to flog it. I also have a turnout rug that was Jamal's. All washed and reproofed. Dunno how much I'll get for it though so I might take it to the Horse Resource and see what they reckon (they sell secondhand stuff and take a percentage - good if ebay fails).
Attempting to cycle to the yard tomorrow morning on Michael's bike. *groan* Probably going to buy it off him as mine is fucked and he doesn't use it. I don't want to cycle to the yard because I am lazy but it'll be worth it once I get used to it. It'll take a few months I reckon as I'm slow to fitten up and it'll be harder once I'm cycling there, riding and cycling back. Least I don't have to muck out (hopefully!). I can't see me cycling in the winter unless I'm really fit and it will depend on the weather. You can walk to the yard in about 40 minutes from my house but I just don't have time for that kind of stuff in the winter.
Made my tea too milky and now it's nearly good and my wrist is aching from typing far too much shite. Going to go read some more of Night Watch while I wait for this wash to finish...;)
