I woke up in an exceptionally pleasant mood, greeting the sun with lips curving a pleasant smile. I wasn’t necessary the epitome of an early-riser. But, ever since I had moved to downtown, there’s a reason that had cleared up my fogged up glasses in viewing life, and life was a better view with a pair of clear glasses. I rose from my comfortable bed with arms stretched flickering like a sunflower casted with light. I turned on the radio; the usual annoying voice of the dj was melodious and bearable to my acute ears, headed to my bathroom, ecstatic to gear up and start the day.

The world was a muddle of polluted air and cars booming furiously in dissatisfaction as they’re stuck in the middle of a traffic jam, I stroll along the pavement, hands resting in my pocket as I inhale the polluted air with eyes closed in appreciation while listening to the usually ignored twittering of the little birds. When the wafting and welcoming smell of freshly baked cookies inches into my nose buds, my eye lids opened in reflex, as if it was conditioned to this smell and the smile I wore early this morning had returned unceremoniously. My feet paddled faster, nose sniffing vigorously being captivated by the scent.
~
My feet took me to the place it knew my heart belong. I stopped in front of the bakery glass window, peeking in ,looking at the one that had made me this way, driving me insane every time the smell of his cookies drift to the air seductively. He was in his usual uniform, a white apron securely hanged around his neck and knotted on his back holding up a tray filled with his talent and hard work, serving it with a smile and lightly conversing with his customers.
~
I rotated the doorknob, and with a jingle of the doorbell, his head turned to my direction and with his tray he comes running to my side, placating a kiss and a hug. He was beautiful underneath the morning sunlight with his sharp nose pinched with dust of flour and with his eyes gleaming in admiration. He told me to take a seat while he prepare my usual breakfast as he unclasped his arm from my waist and I nodded, just before he went away from my grasp I stole another kiss and another, and I could feel his cheeks were starting to burn away in passion and embarrassment as we could feel the eyes of the customers blaring at us. Some were in trance and cooing; some were definitely green in envy and didn’t have the advantage that I have at the moment.
~
I sit myself on my usual seat, the seat that is nearest to the counter and from this distance I could see the beads of perspiration forming on his forehead and his bangs was slightly drenched with them. That doesn’t make him less attractive than he already are, I admire his persistence in pursuing his heart’s desire. I clamped my elbow on the table with my chin resting on top of it, eyes following his every move, fascinated. He stole glances at me when the customer was deep in concentration skimming the menu and deciding what to eat and I returned with a small smile.
~
Finally, after much long wait, he came to my table with a tray with a plate of chocolate-chips cookies and a mug of black coffee and a teasing smile. The customers in the bakery had subsided leaving us with few of the workers and a couple that is too immersed with each other to notice them. He left the tray on my table, taking little steps away trying to escape. I draw him to my lap by pulling the knot on the backside of his apron, letting the scent of fresh-baked cookies and his unique quintessence, letting his soft locks slipped from the gaps of my fingers and tickles my nose with the strong smell of strawberry shampoo.
“You should probably leave for work.”He said, adjusting my neck tie and wiping off invisible dust off my shirt.
“Well, maybe after having my breakfast hand-fed by you.”I suggested teasingly, eyes looking at the plate on the table.
“Fine!”He responded and I opened my mouth ready to be hand fed.
~
He sent me to the bakery door, but I was reluctant to leave by piling a kiss on top of another.
“MINHO! ”he boomed with his hands resting on his hips like a mother scolding her son and I chuckled.
“Last one.”I pointed to my lips hoping for another kiss. I can’t help it, I was intoxicated with his strawberry lips always tasting too sweet and I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m diagnosed with diabetes.
We kissed and he pushed me away to the cold streets of anomity, the streets without him. And, as I walk to my office, all I could think was his mouth -savouring fresh-baked cookies.
Well baby I surrender
To the strawberry ice cream
Never ever end of all this love
Well I didn't mean to do it
But there's no escaping your love
