My oldest brother, Eric Scott Sapienza, died at Jewish Hostpital on December 1st, 2006, aged 36 years. He had been hospitalized for about a week following a stroke induced by a septic blood infection. He lost conciousness and never regained higher brain functions. The exact cause of the infection is, as yet, unknown though we are reasonably certain
