Smells: Bvlgari Omnia + Armani Privé Bois d'Encens

My perfume friend didn't have time to pack samples yesterday, so I just smelled the two random decants that were in her bag: Bvlgari Omnia and Armani Prive Bois d'Encens.

Since I would basically lather myself entirely in frankincense, the Armani Prive was a gimme - it definitely had that chemical perfume smell/feel/taste, I think I'm going to turn out to be one of those Only Naturals For Me people, but it hits the nose with this intense INCENSE INCENSE, like frankincense first being lit. On the drydown it gets this strange oud-leather note - vetiver? I am still bad at sensing vetiver - and I would not have been so into it, except that on my other arm I had Bvlgari Omnia, which is a sweet polite darling of a spicy-oriental perfume that on me hits vanilla-white-chocolate immediately. It smells complex and well-done, mind - it's definitely more perfume than a foodie-smelling lotion from Bath and Body Works - but it also smells kind of light and angelic. I feel like Bvlgari Omnia sits with its knees together and its ankles crossed even when it's wearing jeans.

Layer the two - the kind of big woodsy slightly-leathery slightly-oudy heaviness of the Bois d'Encens and the girly warm-prim Omnia - and, wow. I have no idea who could go around smelling like that all the time, but I want to meet her or possibly be her. It smells like someone who shows up like a thunderstorm and breaks the good plates.

I am seriously considering buying samples of my own just for layering.
