Thanks everyone for your prayers and thoughts and wishes and love and everything else.

They didn't operate last night because another doctor examined my brother and said that since shunts tend to only last about 5 years, it's unlikely that it's shunt failure because:

1. My brother's shunt is 26 years old, so it is near impossible for it to have lasted this long, and...

2. He doesn't have any typical signs of shunt failure.

But the doctors are still saying that whatever it is, the problem is surrounding the shunt area. And apparently he's also got kidney stones. Talk about a sucky day! Last I heard, they were going to do a CAT scan and then proceed from there.

My parents are at the hospital and will probably be gone all day again. I wish they would've taken me with them. In the past when Ian has had serious medical issues, the whole family stuck together. This time I'm here by myself and Ryan is off at his apartment. Ryan called me last night while our parents were at the hospital and was like, "I cleaned my whole room just to keep my mind occupied!" lol, poor guy... I know how he feels. ^^;

So yeah... it's too early to breathe a sigh of relief, but hopefully it's not as serious as they originally thought! I'm utterly exhausted though, I couldn't sleep and whenever I started drifting off, the phone would ring. I'm going to have to engage myself in distracting activities to keep myself from going crazy.
