I was just thinking about songs from the 1960's and 1970's and how out of these eras came songs glorifying substance abuse...Which was cool back then, bekause we didn't see the effekts of these drugs years down the line. They were good klean mynd-altering fun ( Read more... )

Response to genuine question: As I mentioned in the original entry, you and I kan konsider, "Hey, is this song meant to be taken at face value?" For the most part, the people I'm talking about do not have the ability and/or desire to take things for anything but face value. Or they choose to take it at face value bekause it glorifies something they've depended on or think it's cool to depend on. I'm not saying the patients are stupid, but I've seen a lot of people who love glorification of substances (especially alcohol) be it sarcasm or straight. They will, more often than not, take it as straight and a reason to party hard. I've noticed it's even bekome an obsession for some people. It seems they will never stop drinking and get kontrol of their problem, let alone their lives, unless they have supports to diskourage the substance abuse ( ... )
