26 inches of snow and counting.  I have never seen this much snow in my life.  Johnson & Wales cancelled classes yesterday and today.  Nearly EVERYTHING in Denver is closed.  Whole cities are shut down.  In the mountains, as much as 52 inches have fallen.  I'll take some pictures and post them ( Read more... )

Today in class we had a big buffet presentation due that we had been working on since yesterday.  Chef said it was the best buffet that he's ever seen to come out of the Classical French Pastries class.  Here's something to get you salivating:

Apparently, I sleep with my eyes open. Yeah...who knew? This is, of course, according to Sam. He keeps wanting to know how I do it, but I didn't even know it was happening! Good to know I have a hidden talent.

I got in a fight today with a chocolate covered water-balloon...and lost. The up-side? My battle wounds are mighty tasty.

Today is October 26 and we have had our THIRD snowfall. This one was much more significant...at least 2 inches out there. It was so cold and snowy this morning, that when we got to class, Chef made us hot cocoa :-) The real stuff, with whole milk and dark chocolate. It was very very yummy. I wish we could have his hot cocoa everyday.

It is WAY too early for Christmas Crap.

Target has all it's Christmas stuff out depite it not even being Halloween. The Art Museum just set up their Christmas card rack. One of the neighborhoods here has its light poles decorated already! I know it's snowed twice already but jeez people, we still have two months!

Today is October 17....and it's snowing.

Yay Colorado.
