Who Fic - Better Days

Jan 23, 2012 00:31

Better Days PG-13, Ten/Rose
The much anticipated follow up to where The Art of Being Human left off. Warning: this story contains awkward conversations, a veritable Holiday spree, Banana Daiquiris, a bit of kissing, an unexpected present and a Chinese Dragon Puppet. Make of that what you will and Happy Chinese New Year!

And I don’t need boxes wrapped in string, and desire and love and empty things / just a chance that maybe we’ll find better days )

writing: fanfiction, tv: doctor who, ten/rose, the art of being human, fic: au

Hahaha XD I hadn't factored Ten2 into this verse tbh :P I was thinking more prompts than anything. Though no promises I'll write them anytime soon.

Ha, alcoholic apple cider at an American Thanksgiving? Lucky find!

Lovely fic. :)

Shhhh...I'm Australian and have taken artistic license as I've never had Thanksgiving before ;)

Thank you dear :)

Ha, I'm just teasing. It's actually a little hard to run into alcoholic cider here, whereas the UK (and Australia?) have the alcoholic version as the default, which amuses me.

Just lucky? :P

With any luck I may write more in this verse. There are a handful more snippets from it I'd like to finish off at some point :)

Thank you!

May I just say that you are a complete tease for putting this line in there ;): "Nor that he slipped something secretly into her spare pillowcase for her to find at some later, unannounced date." I hope any possible future ficlets will include this part!

Muahahahahaha. Well we already know that he salvaged the hair comb for her, who knows what else he may have recovered for her for sentiments sake?

And yes, it will be included if/when I write/post more of this verse :3

I'm just glad he wasn't a complete daft idiot and just left the hair comb there. For some reason, it was the hair comb and the writing set that they left behind that really bothered me in The Art of Being Human. Glad she got the comb back, here's to hoping he was thoughtful enough of Rose's feelings toward John that he brought back more.... :)

No he's just an incomplete idiot ;) but that's okay.

I think the fact that Rose attached so much sentimental value to those items makes you as a reader also feel attached to them. I love the fact that it's not just the relationship with John that she misses when he goes, it's also the little things from their life together like the presents he gave her, the sketch he did of her...

Haha, he may have gone back and gotten more stuff or he may not. We know he got the comb and the journal at least... ;)
