I haven't written in so long, but I have to talk about LOST.
I looked forward to the season five premiere since the season four finale when I realized that Locke was the dead guy that had Jack and Kate so messed up. Last night did not disappoint me. I have several questions and theories now, and I apologize if they're all jumbled up.
First off: who wants to test Aaron's blood to see if he's Kate's? I first thought of Jack, but now I realize Ben has to be behind it. Ben wants, no, needs everyone to go back to the Island. He would do anything to get Kate to go back, including going after Aaron. Funny that Kate is so attached to the baby as well. I mean, who wouldn't get attached to a little baby, but then again, this is Kate... she has always run from responsibility, and she was never close to Claire or Aaron on the Island. Is this just a plot device or is something else at work?
Jack, thank you for shaving your beard! That was not a good look for you. And Ben, you are looking much better in stylish clothes than you ever did on the Island. btw Ben, did you tell Jack that everyone needed to go back to save the Island? Not to save the people on the Island? Srsly?
Sayid, why did you go find Hurley? I want to know exactly what Ben said/did to you to make you turn on him. Really, Sayid worked for Ben for nearly three years, so Ben must have done something to show who he really was... did Sayid figure out that Ben played a role in Nadia's death? Did Ben push Sayid too far about returning to the Island? And why is Sayid so dead set against going back? It's not like there's anything left for him: Nadia is dead, he has no hope for redemption, he's returned to his life of killing and revenge. It's almost like the Oceanic 6 returned to find themselves living the same tragic lives, but with darker undertones. Yeesh.
Desmond, I still love you, and I'm so glad you are going to save the world! I am finding all of this space/time travel a fascinating part of the LOST story, and I'm glad that Desmond Hume plays a large role. One thing I don't fully understand yet is Daniel's chat where he tells Desmond he's special and that time's rules don't apply to him. Maybe I'm forgetting something that happened in past episodes, but in "The Constant" I thought Desmond risked dying from a time-travel related brain injury just like everyone else. That's why he needed a constant in Penny. And he woke from the dream in this episode after he "remembered" something - that conversation with Daniel. How do the rules not apply? I'll have to keep that in mind when I'm watching next week...
Sun is an absolute bad-ass. Somehow she figured that Charles Widmore would be her alliance against Ben Linus, though I'm not sure that is a stretch to figure out. What is odd is how much "business travel" she's doing. Basically she took over her father's company... I wonder if that's the clout she's using to get to Widmore so that she can get revenge? Don't mess with her!
While I'm on the subject of Widmore: why don't he and Ben kill each other? I think they are each other's constant. This Island is so intricately wrapped up in space-time, I think that if either Ben or Widmore killed one, the other would cease to exist as well. I'm not sure if that makes much sense yet, but it's the best theory I've got.
