[He's already had a couple... adventures... with the random teleportations around Luceti.  And now it's time for him to have another.  He was so proud of his little firing range at the foot of the mountains.  He had considered seeing if the barracks had a range- but there's no way he could practice with these ranges inside a building

[Alexis has absolutely no idea what is or why this is going on. She had been making herself a snack, standing in the kitchen, and all of sudden... she's not.

Blinking in absolute consternation here. She hasn't noticed either targets or a rifle sighted on her. She's too busy staring at the place where her refrigerator should be.]

[And he only has a fraction of a second to register someone appearing by his target to react, his finger already squeezing down on the trigger.

The loud report of a rifle is accompanied by a small explosion of dirt and stone a few feet behind the girl standing next to his target. And he's immediately shouldering the gun and running down range at a full clip.]

tl;dr -- and canon gives me no terrified Alexis icons ;;

[It happens so very fast and Alexis jumps, then scrambles forward with a soft shriek. Okay, gone from finding a pudding cup to getting shot at.

She knew what to do. Her dad had given her some pointers, during one his rare serious moments. (Which had, of course, denigrated quickly.

She knew what to do.

So why can't she think of what to do?

Scrambling forward turns into falling on her hands and knees but the one thing she does remember is not to freeze. Don't stop moving. Alexis tries to regain her feet -- and she's so focused on Not Being Shot that she fails to notice whoever is running toward her.]

[As he approaches, there's a running litany of expletives... and something that sounds like "deculture."]

[ All of a sudden, bam, there's a bird right in Michael's sights! It actually looks quite dazed, having appeared out of nowhere, and falls a bit in the air before righting itself.]

[A half second later, and Michael would be cursing himself for hitting a hawk. It might not have been so bad if a deer appeared in his line of sight- maybe not very sportsmanlike, but venison was venison. As it was, he watched the hawk carefully through his scope. It did seem... familiar, somehow.]

[The Harrier lands in a nearby tree, and seems to peer at David closely. Then:]

[Wait. What? Was that...? Not sure if it would even work, he focuses his thoughts.]

[Today has actually been a "good" day for one Masaomi Kida. He's been hitting on girls (...sorta. He seems to be teleported a way a lot), he hasn't been shot down too much... sorta. And he's gotten to eat some remotely decent food after rediscovering Azzip.

In fact, it's as he's leaving Azzip that he might be in the sights of some fellow. ...Or maybe he run into him. Your call]

[Michael sighed with resignation at the latest interruption to his shooting practice. The familiar sounds of town surrounded him, His scope's view was dominated by the back of a familiar head of blond hair, and he could feel the end of his barrel pressed against someone's back.]

[Oh great, now where is she? Backing around to try to get her bearings... trees, trees and more trees... Katara backs into something.]

[More precisely, she trips over Michael, lying prone on the ground, just as he's about to take a shot at one of his targets in the foothills ahead. The shot goes wide, sending a small fistful of the hillside a few hundred yards away scattering into the air. Meanwhile, the loud report of his shot nearly drowns out Michael's shout of suprise as Katara lands on his back.]

Ooof! [Her feet had gotten tangled in his legs and so when she tries to step back and steady herself she only manages to twist and fall hard on her side. Simultaneously, Katara reaizes two things:

1. This is not the ground.

2. That was really loud.

And unfamiliar. And loud and unfamiliar were usually Very Bad Things. She immediately rolls off, stopping about two feet away and moving into a ready crouch, despite her throbbing head.]

[He simply stays on the ground, groaning slightly, but glad to have whatever fell on him off his back.]
