Times the time

How do you think Sapphire and Steel (along with the other Elements) mark Time. If they are immortal, do they even have a way to mark the passage of Time... It seems as if they don't always show up on Assignment at the same time... how do they know when to go.

Maybe something tells them when they're assigned? Or maybe they can just sense it like they do other things.

I wish there was more information about the beings who pulled S&S's strings. It would be great to have a bit more background.

Eee, icon love!<3

Same. I wish they'd shown it or at least explained what it was. I have so many unanswered questions!

Feel free to take it!

I wish there was just someone somewhere who had some answers. Not even Hammond did.

I have never noticed Steel or Sapphire glance at a wristwatch, so I suppose they do not measure time the way we do. Actually, I tend to think that time does not exist in their world (or reality, or dimension, or whatever it is they live in). But they are obviously trained in marking time the earthly way, since they know what clocks are and how to use them (Assignment One). Yes, I think they are immortal entities, but not invulnerable; I think they can be killed. How does the Authority replace a killed operator or trains a new one, though, is anybody's guess.

If they are 'killed' in their human form, do they come back in another visage or the same one? So many questions... sigh.

Mmmh, I never thought of that! Elemental reincarnation? Fascinating subject!

As I say, with this series, there are so many questions... and fewer answers.
