Cho Kyuhyun was never one to give in to demands. No. Just no. If anything, it should be the other way around; he was the maknae, and what maknae wants, the maknae gets. Yup.
Kyuhyun is, for the most part, a logical and reasonable young man. Like functions or calculus, he was also one to believe that no matter how strict, every rule always had to have an exception. Because life only makes sense that way… duh.
Being in Super Junior for 6 years now, he likes to think that he’s developed some sort of… aegyo-resistance. After all, with members like Ryeowook and Donghae, one can only stare at so many pouts and puppy eyes before he gives up.
That’s why when Kyuhyun is asked for favours, he simply shakes his head and tells them to do it themselves because they are all grown men now. And Kyuhyun just doesn’t take orders.
///
Remember when he said every rule has an exception? Well yeah, that applies to Kyuhyun too. As much as he was a genius, he was human too. His one (and only) exception? The aegyo-king of Super Junior, his roommate, his best friend-turned-boyfriend Lee Sungmin.
Kyuhyun didn’t know how, but that man was the only person in his life that defied just about every rule he had set for himself. At first, he tried to deny it, but when Kyuhyun found himself cooking ramen for Sungmin at 3 in the morning, and banging on tea shop doors for bubble tea after store hours, he knew Sungmin was far beyond ordinary. And there was nothing he could - or wanted - to do about it.
It wasn’t like it was his fault that his adorable pumpkin had more-than-weird cravings at the strangest of times. Or the fact that Kyuhyun was so in love with him he’d be tripping over his own feet in a haste to comply to Sungmin’s every request.

Which was why when Sungmin comes flouncing into their shared room one night, a suspicious gleam in his eyes and a wide, wide smile, Kyuhyun knew it couldn’t be good. It wasn’t often that Sungmin had this look on, but when he did, Kyuhyun was doomed. He had been reading a book on his bed when Sungmin walked in. He only giggled, eyes glowing brighter as he hopped onto the bed and crawled almost predatorily towards Kyuhyun.
“Kyubear~” Kyuhyun put his book down and sighed, watching the elder’s movements with a wary eye. He squeezed his eyes shut, holding his breath. Just say it Min, just say it…
“I want to eat…”
“Sushi.”
Oh. That’s it? “Sushi?” Kyuhyun asks. “Oh! For a moment I thought- uh, never mind.” He breathes a sigh of relief. Something as simple as sushi had Sungmin this excited?
“We’ll just go get take out from that restaurant down the street-“
Standing up, he reaches for his jacket slung over the back of a chair, but Sungmin’s hand stops him and the half-smirk-half-smile only gets wider. Kyuhyun gulps. Uh oh.
“But Kyubear, you don’t understand,” the latter beams as his doe eyes sparkle up at his lover. He steps closer. “I want sushi… from Japan.” The last part was hushed, just barely a whisper breathed into Kyuhyun’s ear.
“FROM WHERE?!” He should’ve seen it coming. It was never this easy. “Min, are you crazy? How are we going to get to-“
Kyuhyun didn’t get to finish his thought before his eyes fixed on Sungmin; whimpering, lower lip trembling, and tears already streaming.
Damn, he’s good.

A large suitcase, a map, and about a million won later, Kyuhyun finds himself seated in an airport, waiting to catch the next flight to Tokyo.
“Sometimes I wonder why I get myself into so much for you,” he muses as he gazes at his pink-loving boyfriend, who was happily munching on a bag of chips.
“You love me, Kyunnie,” Sungmin giggles, grinning cheekily. Kyuhun chuckles.
“More than anything, pumpkin.” He couldn’t help nuzzling Sungmin’s nose, leaning down to steal a quick peck despite the other’s half-hearted protests.
He sighs contentedly. “Forever my only exception…”
“Oh Kyu? One more thing.”
“Mm… what is it?”
“I didn’t tell our managers.”
