So, we've actually been on two dates rather than one. So far, my instincts are telling me this is a very nice connection. My instincts have not always been right, granted, but I think after being single for a year and a half, my instincts have been better honed. It's really nice to feel this interested in someone.

So yesterday's Pre Date Interview Get Together was really fun. She is very attractive, smart, communicative, funny, stable, compassionate, and I feel pretty darned good about the possibility of dating this woman. Today, while doing my slow jog around the Seward Park loop at lunchtime, the atmosphere was so unique. It was sort of primordial and spooky. That time just after a heavy rain and before a heat wave, when the air itself seems yellowish-green. Very, very cool.

Jessica is 27 today. She spent the day in Boston (where it is 70 degrees and sunny) with her boyfriend Christopher (who gave her a sweet "promise ring" for her birthday). So, as of yesterday, I've lost 52 pounds. It's so weird when you think about it. I took Cleo to the vet today and they weighed her as usual. She weighs 41.5 pounds. So I've lost the equivalent of Cleo plus, what? about 20 - 30 hamsters? So if I were to put Cleo and 20 - 30 hamsters in one place, that's the amount of weight I've lost. Needless ( Read more... )
