Finally!
God, where to start?? Seriously, it was an AWESOME day. I cannot use the word awesome enough in this report.
So we got up at the ungodly hour of 0530 (0600 for me teehee), showered, breakfasted, prettified ourselves, grabbed everything, triple checked we had cameras and con folders and credit cards and cash (the important things) and jumped in the car.
... Ok, none of you really care about that stuff. Let's jump straight to the good stuff!
"It's MARDI GRAAAAAS!" was the opening line from Chris Judge. Well, after he and Dan Shea took off their shirts (YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT. SHIRTS OFF.) and did knuckle pushups. WITH THEIR FEET ON A CHAIR. It was unnatural, I tell you. But holy hell it was a nice view! Especially when Chris then poured a bottle of water over his head, heee! But who goes to see good looking men take their shirts off. Really. It's so shallow *innocent*
ANYWAY. I don't think those guys were on stage for an hour because it went by so fast. I don't even remember the questions that were asked TBH because I was laughing so hard. Man, I would hate to be the parents of the kids in the audience. Awkward questions much? LOL
So after Chris and Dan, Claudia and Ben were on stage. Three cheers! They chatted about Really Deep Things that I have no interest in so I zoned out and just stared at the pretty, itching to take more photos. Oh one thing that I both loved and hated was that you only got 5min at the beginning of the talks to take photos before you had to put your camera away. Gah, it's DURING the talks that all the funny expressions and hand actions are done! *frustrated*
I remember Ben talking about how he flew back to his family every weekend that he had spare just so he could touch base. Claudia mentioned that she used to go to UNSW but dropped out to pursue acting lol. She grabbed some info about doing some course or other but I didn't quite catch what she was saying.
Then someone asked a really stupid question: You worked with two hot Australian chicks. Did that cause friction at home? So, basically, do you think your wife cheated on you. Seriously, who would ask that? It just... It made me embarrassed. Ben handled it really well, though.
Gigi came onstage about 10min after they did but I didn't get to ask my question because we ran out of time. Really, does the woman have to be so damn cute? She's so tiny and has great fashion sense and I just want to squish her lol. I refrained, don't worry! :P
ETA: (Random thing I just remembered) Ben also now coaches girls pole vaulting at some high school in the States.
ETA2: We did a HELL YEAH for Ben and then Claudia pipes up "you're in my town now. Aussie Aussie Aussie!" Crowd: "OI OI OI". Ah, tear in my eye.
THEN Connor Trineer and David Nykl! Whee! Connor was looking mighty fine (I'm biased, sue me) and David was just funny as hell. I think I was slightly stunned because I seriously cannot remember anything that was asked of them. Let me just refer to my portable sponge (AKA, the maternal unit)................. Oh right! Someone asked a question about similarities between Trip and Michael. Connor's answer? "I died!" LOL, it was a recurring theme throughout the panel. He was also asked about whether he was surprised the producers decided to have Michael around for an actual arc instead of a one off and he said he had a feeling halfway through shooting that they might ask him back.
There was a question posed to David Nykl that I can't even remember, but a part of it was "I think you're a better actor than David Hewlett". Who says that? Really? You might think it, and no-one can fault you for opinions even if they disagree, but to say that out loud in front of that many people to his face was just... No. You don't do that. How odd would you feel? Maybe I'm being a little harsh, but it's just impolite to me. What do you guys think?
Next up was David Blue. Granted, I don't care for SGU either way (which makes me sad, because I loved the previous Stargates) but he is ridiculously cool. Like, geeky!cool. He was telling us how he'd watch a movie or show and then want to learn ninja things or ride a skateboard. I felt like yelling "I do that too!". And there was something he said that in any other place would have had a weird silence instead of clapping and cheering, but hey I was just rolling with it. His first role was in a school play when he ran across the stage as a nut (nut?) and that was it. He finally figured out that if he became an actor, he'd get to do most of the things he wanted to - and get paid! He watched sci fi and he plays video games and he's just.. a geek. It's awesome.
speckleberry asked him if he could have Eli interact with any other character out of a tv or movie who would it be? His answer: Darth Vader. His radar of coolness shot to 10 lol.
Oh oh and he also said (secretly, sssh!) that he was playing some video game (please don't ask me the name because I got nothing. I think it had something to do with dragons?) and he was all "Hmm, this chick sounds sexy" then was like "OMG that's Claudia!" and then inadvertently... had his character sleep with hers LMAO. OMG that was so hilarious. They knew each other from the set of Moonlight and he had rung her before to just ask what it was like working in Stargate.
ANYWAY.
UP NEXT. THE MAN. YOU ALL KNOW WHO I'M TALKING ABOUT. He really needs no introduction but he got one.
It's taking way too long to do RDA's talk because I have ALL the questions and ALL the answers. That will be tomorrow night's project, I think. Don't kill me! Admire the pretties below!
And now pics! So many pics... *pets the pretty in a non-creepy way*... *ok, in a creepy way* My photos with guests will be posted in
this post which needs to be updated so bad. Oy.
Are you guys ridiculously jealous now? Because clearly that was my whole point in making this fucking long post that took up all the time I'd allocated to Uni. Priorities, I has them ;)
Couple of things: To any non-flisters who stumble this way, welcome! Please feel free to snag the pics, but I do ask that if you repost them or use them for graphics, provide a link back to this post and also state that it was I,
sapphs, who took the Photos of Awesome. No, really.
Flisters: Aw, shucks, I know you guys will credit. And if you don't, I know where you allll live.
Pimp the post away!
And now to crawl into bed with my Ice Magic covered ice cream and watch something cheesy. Like The Librarian. Oh baby, my nights of partying are awesome, no?
