God, or no God?

Was the universe and life in it planned and created by a thinking entity with mysterious and magic powers? Anything is mysterious when we don't understand it. But when we study something, we learn, and the mystery disappears. Is it wise to assume that anything is unknowable when we have solved so many of life's mysteries already? I can't and won't live that way. The Christians say, "You just have to have faith." But I refuse to believe in a God who would grace me with intelligence, sense, reason, and logic and then demand that I forego their use.

Okay, a question, before we go. Do you believe that the "Christian God" model is the only possible one out there? Do you think there are others? Or do you not believe in ANY kind of higher power?
