"No coincidence at some lunch counter and twenty minutes of conversation with a girl you once knew, some woman sitting there, and you know the exact location of every mole on her body, is going to make one thing in this real world different. If you want the coincidence where some character based on me gets the amazing girl back and has his heart ( Read more... )

just wanted to say, you shouldn't be so critical of your writing. I liked this fragment a lot. keep writing and see where it takes you, and none of that sandbagging. :P

But I'm in dire need of an editor! :-)

The issue of where my writing takes me is a subject for another day, but I really am thankful for the vote of confidence.

I really liked this too, it was magic and fun.

I really want to reply to your email now but I feel so awful about not having done it sooner. It sort of got away from me. Would you still like me to reply, or would you prefer not?

If this is OA, I approve of OA. I guess I ought to do a bit more of it myself. Do you mean that it is more self-indulgent, or just more personal? Over-acting seems somewhat critical. I can't really see the negative aspect myself.

Since we are whispering, I might also explain that one of the main reasons for my silence has been my transfer to a new email address. I cut & pasted your email into a text file, but managed to lose the email address. May I have it again? And - I obviously did need to ask since when I read the words I thought I had been reprimanded - until I saw the smiley face, which I hope means Yes! Email rather than No! Of course you may not!

Okay, okay, I'm going to quote my own first e-mail to you: "P.S. Just so that this is clear, it's not like I expect or want this to be a daily affair, or weekly, or any other set schedule. Part of the whole appeal of letters is the fact that they can arrive at any time."

Yes! Email!

Unless you are trying to be my editor already, I'm not sure why you are quoting this...

It's how I felt as I read.

Well, I do believe that you need a third category, because this is neither pretentious nor emo :-p

Well, duh, that's why I posted it! ;-) But whether the story itself is or not, I am currently too OA to give it the proper treatment, and ending, that I think it could really hold. Oh well.
