I almost never do public posts, but I want to spread this information far and wide:

I'm glad you posted this. I've been reading lots of "jump ship now while you can" posts about going to Dreamwidth and such and this is the first pro-LJ I've seen. I don't want to go elsewhere and try to rebuild all the SUFF I've accumulated here. First off, lots of this just doesn't exist and it goes downhill from there. But of course, all I really do is read what others post and really don't contribute much. So, it will be interesting to see what shakes out.

LJ is impressing me immensely to be honest--they could stop a lot of the trouble that's got to be about giving them a nervous breakdown if they'd just suspend one or two accounts, but they're fighting the good fight and standing up for freedom of speech and...freedom, really.

Go LJ! I can't be supportive enough.

This is... scary. And almost unbelievable (= you don't want to believe that such methods still exist) :/

Agreed--it's almost easier, or less uncomfortable, to believe that someone's just being a doofus somewhere than to think that people are putting so much effort into such a politically motivated attack.

We forget how very fragile freedom is in much of the world...

It's amazing that these freedoms that some folks can take for granted are not so...easy in other parts of the world. Amazing and sad.
