It's way late, but I'm posting this now anyway.

end of year meme

1. What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before?
Well, I travelled more than I ever have and visited several countries I haven't been to before. Got pneumonia. Lived in an expensive and attractive apartment. Had a foursome. Was drunk in a zoo.

Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Pretty sure I didn't have any, as I always fail to keep them. I do have a plan to start working out this year, but I know I'm gonna hate it.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not close, no.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.

5. What countries did you visit?
England, Netherlands x2, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Spain, Germany x2, Latvia, Denmark x2, Poland, USA and technically Switzerland but only the airport so not really.

6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
More one-night-stands. An education-relevant job.

7. What date from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Tough one. It has to be May 17th, the Norwegian constitution day. That day was perfect from beginning to end.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
All the travelling. Getting something I've written published in a national magazine. Getting through my entire reading list way before my exams.

9. What was your biggest failure?
I got one not so good grade, not that I understand why.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
The big cut that my friend made on my arm last New Year's Eve, and then pneumonia. But that's minor, really.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
A huge bed. And tons of books.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Various left-wing organizations.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Most right-wing politicians. And everyone's stupid slacktivism on facebook.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Plane tickets, alcohol and festivals.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Going to San Francisco. The german festival.

16. What song will always remind you of 2010?
Haha, Lady Gaga's Bad Romance. Tinie Tempah's Pass Out. Of Montreal's Sex Karma. And of course the entire Danger Days-album from My Chemical Romance.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Happier, since I was heavily jettlagged and depressed about leaving Canada this time last year..
ii. thinner or fatter? Fatter, as usual.
iii. richer or poorer? A lot poorer.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Flirt. Read.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Eat gross food.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
At home, with family.

21. How will you be spending New Year's?
I did spend New Year's Eve roaming around downtown San Francisco in the rain, alone and drunk out of my mind, unable to find out even remotely where I was, not getting back until I managed to hail a cab by pretending to be pregnant and cutting in line before all the other people in the line. Before all this happened, the night was awesome.

  1. Did you fall in love in 2010?
Sort of, but not really. More like realizing I already had a crush. Or two.

    23. How many one-night stands?
Kind of two, but does it really count as one-night stands if it's with your friends?

    24. What was your favorite TV programme?
    True Blood.

    25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
    Nah.

    26. What was the best book you read?
Probably Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. And many Jens Bjørneboe-books.

    27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
    Getting into reggae, haha.

    28. What did you want and get?
Ten different holidays. A good year.

    Can't think of much, really.

    30. What was your favorite film of this year?
    Brotherhood. Oh, and the Runaways.

    31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 22, and I spent the day shopping in Alkmaar, Netherlands. Wore a really nice dress.

    32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
More homoeroticism in all aspects of life.

    33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
Colours, lots of dresses, and a failed attempt at looking a little hipster-but-not-too.

    34. What kept you sane?
Books and partying and my friends.

    35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
    Kevin Barnes and Gerard Way.

French boy and some of the other people I met in Canada.

    38. Who was the best new person you met?
    My friend Nils.

    39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010:
Enjoy every moment and blah blah.

    40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:

    Psh.

2011, life, 2010
