Entertainment weekly (followed by AP, Huffington Post and CNN) reports that Kal Penn has left "House" to become an associate director in the office of public liason for the Obama White House. Late-night comedy wisecracks will no doubt be heard throughout the week to come.

... except that the rocket didn't work, and the crew retook their ship a day later with no casualties. Maybe the apocalypse is taking a vacation?

*: At some point, one of the stories I was reading about this said that it had been two hundred years. Given that the Second Barbary War ended in 1816, this is almost certainly wrong, but it might not be wrong by much.
