I'm finally on my way back to Bloomington. It's going to be great to have a real home again, after living out of my car or cabin all summer. Right after classes ended in May, I went back to Princeton for about a week, during which I played a dry run of my junior recital with Nariaki. We joked that he was on his East Coast Tour, because after my recital, he played for two more IU cellists, one in Philadelphia and one in Washington, D.C. I just got back from my first rehearsal with my chamber group, and I'm not quite so scared anymore. I'ts going to take a lot of work to make this piece sound good, but I think it's possible. I am officially crazy for having decided to take 21 credits. In the past four days (note the presence of the weekend) I woke up by 9am every single day, worked on homework, practicing, and errands with only meals as breaks until 11pm or midnight, socialized for less than an hour (like I went to a party for 30 minutes... it just didn't feel like ME ( Read more... )
