They chose lucky fans among those who purchased their special compilation album “SMAP Aid” thru lottery. They also used lottery for fan club members in choosing the lucky fans who joined them in the other venues. As another means of thanking their fans, they ended this event by a special handshake session.
2011 SMAP Peking Konsato Ganbarou, Nippon! Arigatou, Chuugoku! - Ajia wa Hitotsu - Purojekuto
Type: One-time concert
Date: 2011.09.16
Venue: The Workers Stadium, Beijing China
Highlights: This was SMAP’s first overseas concert after last year’s plan of performing in Shanghai was cancelled due to safety precautions. Four of the members with the exception of Goro also met up with China’s Prime Minister Wen Jiabao when he visited Japan. They brought last year’s live concept “We are SMAP! 2010 SMAP CONCERT TOUR” to Beijing plus singing two of their famous songs in Chinese. They held the concert for nearly 2 hours and gathered 40,000 people. There were some strict prohibitions in terms of staging the concert due to safety. The venue can accommodate more people, but they chose to set some limits. In addition, the use of gunpowder for stage special effects and floats were also banned.
Shuku 20 Shuunen! SMAP FaNxFuN PARTY 2011
Type: One-time Event
Date: 2011.11.12-13
Venue: Tokyo Dome
Highlights: This year’s fan meeting at any rate was considered small-scale in which the members didn’t have enough chance of interacting with their fans. Having this in mind, it’s a must for them to hold an event since they are celebrating their 20th year. More than 400,000 people could not participate because there were 540,000 who applied for the 110,000 seating capacity of the venue in two days. Tickets were not only sold to Fan Club members, but also general sales and special selling thru SMAPxSMAP. Upon entering the entrance of the venue, fans were given a present from the members. SMAP gave a silver medal to each of the fans. They also consulted with their staff the morning of November 12 about staying in the exit to say goodbye to their fans. They surprised their fans with this plan as each member waved to their fans closely in 5 different exit points.
Hurray! Finished. What's left is this year's live! Exciting! Hope you enjoyed reading!
